More amazing gun advice from our Vice President of Derp, Joey Biden.
http://www.theblaze....rough-the-door/

I especially like the parts where he talks about shooting your shotgun through the door to stop an intruder, and the part where 4 or 5 shots can stop a bear.

My job is to be an asshole. I excel at the position.

I'm waiting to see the legal case where someone actually follows Biden's advice, gets into legal trouble with the local LEOs, and then tries to invoke that the vice president told them to do it.

Kind of happened in VA Beach.
Guy said he saw two masked perps looking in his window. Guy said they pointed a weapon at him, he went to the hall, got a shotgun and fired through his bedroom door to the window.
Then when they ran away, fired out the window... that's the part that I think got him in trouble ;)

I am really starting to take an interest in 3D printing. I'm seeing files for AR mags, AK mags, glock mags, etc.

Then of course stripped receivers.

Wonder if I could generate a side business printing AR mags and selling them when nobody can get the real ones....

The technology isn't quite there yet on the consumer grade machines. The group that printed the lower used a machine worth over 200000 dollars! :)

On my machine I have printed out minor parts successfully though. Grip, receiver vice block and the like. Printing a full receiver didn't turn out so well because of the length of the print (over 6 hours) the part warped.

I'm not thinking about the lowers.

I'm thinking about magazines.

Print the magazine body/follower/floorplate, then buy a spring somewhere that still has them in stock.

Yeah, the mags would be much easier to do. Maybe grips, adjustable stock maybe?

I've done grips. Stocks is a pretty big print, considering something the size of a baseball would take about 4 hours.

Anyone find files in sketchup format you want or .stl format, I can print and mail to you (provided it's legal per ATF that is) at cost (raw plastic and shipping)

How much is the plastic, if you don't mind my asking. If I can make something in solid works, I may take you up on that.

Anyone got any experience with pistol lights? I'm looking at either a Surefire X300 LED or a Streamlight TLR-1.
Putting it on my full size pistol. I'm liking the Surefire, purely because of the 500 lumens.

I don't have any experience with that particular surefire.

I have a TLR-1. I like it, and it's worked well for me. I've swapped it around on just about anything I have with rail space, and after a time on my Saiga 12's handguard rail it's currently sitting on my XD 9mm at my bedside. Figured it made more sense for it to be somewhere it could get used in the short term and put it back on the Saiga if I'm pulling it out of the safe for a prolonged period of time.

I put off buying it. Picked up a new shoulder holster (been wanting one for a while), new Benchmade knife, and a bottle of Cruzan instead haha.
I have enough small lights that it's not a huge need (only a few practical uses I could see at this point, and I have a handheld light near my bed).
