I own both the X7 and a A5, My choice X7 all the way, its a perfected milsim A5 has performed flawlessly.

I would be interested to see the results of the air experiment. In theory the two guns would be the same, since the internals are basically identical, but you never know I guess...

And is there any reason the Tac-One is in there? Because it's clearly better than the other three, so I was just wondering...

BTW, I voted for the X7 being more upgradeable but the reality is that it is more CUSTOMIZABLE. I don't know that there is to much at this point that can be done to enhance performance. That is how I define upgradeable.

The tac -one theing was a spur of the moment deal.
I really quite internerested too(

I was just wonder those fo you who have x-7 did you keep the stock barrel, since the porting is inside the shroud it seems that the gases get caught up withing the shroud producing inaccuracy

I mad now that i 've read the results so far, how in all the universe could more people have said that the x-7 is more upragible that the a-5, there only two companies that make upgrades for the x-7 tippmann and Special ops(it)
there has to be atleat five who make upgrades for the a-5

Isn't the x7 just a dressed up A5, ala Kingman, anyway? What new innovations are on it, really? I'm not trying to flame it, I like the way it looks more than the A5, but is it really that different?

There aren't any huge, groundbreakingf mods, but the push-pin modding is VERY nice. And I love my fire selector switch to death.

While I haven't really looked into it, here's my potential explanation:

The X-7 has a number of stocks, foregrips, etc. that make it look like a certain gun; so that's what the X-7 has that the A-5 doesn't. Now, almost everything that was designed just for the A-5 will also work on the X-7, with the exception of stocks. Barrels, internals, etc. will still work on both guns, thus the X-7 has more upgrades available.

Like I said, I didn't really look into it, but it makes sense at first glance.

barrell threads are the same on X-7 and A-5. I actually just picked up a Lapco adapter so that I could use the way to many 98 barrells that I own. Any way, i voted the A-5 beign more "upgradeable" because for now, it is. I would think that in a few months/years, the X-7 will over take the A-5 in upgrades.

I was asked to write a review of the X7 for tippmann along with a number of my associates.

Overall, I love the thing. In comparison to the A-5, which is a tad smaller and a little more adaptable in terms of the air lines, the X7 is a more versatile, lighter piece that caters to the milsim players quite well.

The only real complaint I have with mine, is the sight system. It is absolutely worthless.

In terms of minor beefs, the hopper, since it is elongated to lower the overall profile, allows the the paint to stack near the front if you're shooting level or at a negative angle. You need to tip the marker back to refill the cyclone when you're running low on paint. The A-5 hopper was a better one since this wasn't a problem.

But, performance wise, its just as good if not better than My A-5. Plus, for Tippmann, it was time for something new anyway, since their sales of the C3 didn't quite go as planned (I have one of those too, its an interesting piece no doubt)
I have never been shot by a player in a ghillie suit.
