I see a bunch of them out at Battlefront paintball. Other then that, not too many. To use one well you have to have a fairly thick field, seems like more of the fields are thinned to the point of being speedball with trees. You know, even if you can't hide very well with it (if its a thin field) you can use it for the mind games, sometimes thats just as effective.

In woods and grass they work really well while you are holding still. As long as you can stay cool you will have fun with it.

yeah one guy on my team uses a partial Ghile that is useful for intimidation and ambushing but in rec ball they are fairly useless :)

We have a few people that go Ghille at my home field. Problem is a Ghillie is only gonna blend in part of the time depending on time of year and location. Plus its a lot hotter. I have only seen one guy use a ghillie and it work well. He picked the right brush to use for his surroundings. I was right behind him and didnt see him until he fired. Glad he was on my side.

In my experience, it would be better to use ghillie in the configuration of a cape, or blanket ( draping this around your head, shoulders and upper body, or using it to cover yourself as you lay in wait for an ambush). It's lighter, cooler, more versatile, easier to don, and you can take up surrounding flora and fauna to "tuck in" quicker. And when your done, just roll it up, and vacate the A.O. Might wanna consider this. :ghillie:

One other thing to consider is that many fields require that ghillie players must call out on any impact, regardless of break or bounce.

This is because ghillie material dramatically increases the chance of a bounce and they can easily unintentionally hide a hit.

Yep, that too. Many a ghillie-clad player have been bonus-balled because of this. :P

Per standard scenario rules (and most fields) any hit does count as an out. Unfortunately, there are ghillie players that ignore this rule - which in turn leads to overshooting.

In general, ghillies don't add that much to the standard game & should be avoided.

Different strokes for different folks, but I'd rather be moving around & playing instead of setting up and just waiting for someone to walk by.

This is important in hot and especially humid climates. It is easy to become hot and dehydrated while staying motionless waiting for your shot. Make sure your teammates know at least your general location so they can find you if you pass out and don't make it back on your own.

I've got my own homeade ghillie and it works great. I've only used it at my private field soi'm not sure on the rules. Like everyone said most paintballs tends to bounce off me without breaking but contrary to popular beleif my ghillie ios quite cool while my paintball vest is much hotter. Also if you don't have patience then don't try a ghillie. I've spent an hour in a 3 Vs. 1 game. Which ghillie did you buy anyway?

I've seen a lot of ghillie suits here in NC but I think straight up digi BDU's are more practical and effective because you are much more mobile than you would be with a ghillie, if you pick your hide effectively you will have the same effect as you would with a ghillie. Ghillies are mostly for show, go for what works. Action ghillie is decently effective and mobile so if you really want ghillie, stick with specops and they'll treat you right. Omnipats are the way to go though.

I'm probably one of the people you've seen in the Ghillie at Battlefront. I was at WAW and was in Ghillie on the British team....yeah...British I know.

But yes, if you have the coverage to use in conjunction with the Ghillie it is effective. Just learn how to use it to actually conceal yourself, just going out and laying down in a Ghillie won't cut it.

No i don't use one, but i haven't gone paintballing this year. Ghillie suits are way to expensive for me, but from what i hear they work pretty good.
