Many-a-time you will see a paintballer just standing there, holding his gun, squared up to his target, and shooting without any support. So I'm going to start off basically here.

90% of the time 90% of you will be shooting standing up, from behind a bunker, normally a tree. With a marker that has a verticle foregrip, you're albows both naturally flare out a little bit, makeing your profile a little bigger. Since you're on a CQB playing field, you want a small profile.

For speedball type markers/ set ups...
Take a small step towards your target

Make sure your tank is snug between your chest and bicep, and if its comfortable, get it as clsoe to your arm pit as you can.

Your elbows probably arent too far out, but you can push them in a lil tighter to your abs. Your strong arm/elbow probably wont get to your abs but your other hand will.

On your weak hand, in my opinion, your knuckles should be pointing towards your target/in.

You also will naturally hunch and shrug your shoulders a bit, its a nice idea to keep that in mind so you will always do it.

For guns that are more of a Mil-Sim set up, its pretty much the same.

Take a small step towards your target

Your free arm's elbow should be pointing down, and with your free hand pull the marker into your shoudler.

Your good arm with flare out a bit more than the speedball set up, so its important you remember to keep it tucked in because of the stock.

Your knuckles should be facing somwhere between your 3-6 o clock on your off hand.

You also will naturally hunch and shrug your shoulders a bit, its a nice idea to keep that in mind so you will always do it.

Sling

Slings can serve another purpose than makeing your gun easier to carry, they are to the standing as ni-pods are to the prone, In my honest opinion. I'm using a cheap-o Evil-Mart sling so you dont have to pay big bucks to get a nice sling. Mine works fine...though it needs new batteries.

First off, take a step forward, like you normally would.

Then put your arm through the sling...
Posted Image

Then back through...
Posted Image

Then pull the rest of the sling tight with yoru free arm, and when you get it pretty tight grip the horizontal foregrip of your gun, pulling it a little bit tighter.

You should have some of the sling wrapped around your hand or between your hand and your foregrip.

Like your normally would, your free arm's elbow should be pointing down, and with your free hand pull the marker into your shoudler.

Sitting

You should of the target at your9 o clock and sit down on your arse with your strong side leg on the ground sideways while your other leg is propped up.

Cross your arms while your gun is in your hand so your weak arm is on your propped up knee and the gun in on said elbow.

Use your good hand to pull back on the gun bringing it tight into your shoulder

Prone with a Bi-pod

Set the 'legs' at the correct height

Lay on your stomach so the target is at your 11 o clock. Make sure your toes point outwards, you might get a cramp otherwise.

Make sure the 'legs' of your bi-pod wont slip and make a slight depression in the ground, giving it a good support

Cross your arms like you did with the sitting position.

Pull back on the gun with your good hand

Also, before anyone says anything. The Spyder's tank is broke wasnt full and wouldnt work otherwise. And the hopper was unloaded.

My 98 had neither the remote line or the tank plug in nor did it have a hopper, or elbow for that matter, on.

The camera was manned but itself, i.e. 10second timer.

And only guinea pigs were harmed in the making of this thread. :D

1 more post before i get told i did somthing wrong...

Hills

Shooting Uphill

Sit down and spread your legs

Lay your feet flat on the ground, but i like to dig my heels in cuz I figure it'd give me a bit more support.

Put your elbows on the insides of your knee, there should be a nice lil depression there.

Pull back on the gun with your free hand
Posted Image

Shooting Downhill
Sit down and spread your legs

Dig your heel sinto the ground

Put your elbows on top of your knees this time

Pull back on the gun with your free hand
Posted Image

Shooting from a tall object(tree)
Now even though this makes your a little bit more of a target and it takes a second to set-up, I'm really surprised that there isnt any using this...

Take a step forward

With your free hand place it on whatever tall object is in front of you. Spread your thumb out so its the only part of your hand that sticks away from the object, and place your gun between your thumb and your hand.

With your good hand, pull back on the gun.

Your good arm with flare out a bit more than the speedball set up, so its important you remember to keep it tucked in because of the stock. Especially now that your presenting more of yourself

You also will naturally hunch and shrug your shoulders a bit, its a nice idea to keep that in mind so you will always do it.

Nice tactics and I am in love with your camod marker. Is it the same one that was posted on the marker pic (98 w/ old longbow stuff)

Nice tips, i rarely shoot from standing up and have adapted my own habits...not much different from yours but, everyone has different fingerprints eh?

something i noticed in your whole camo setup(not dissing just a tip to improve your awesome camo abilities) get something to take the glare off of your goggles, every pic i saw that gave you away. There are some nice goggle covers that are like screen, they allow great visibility and keep the glare from being seen.. just a tip, youl do fine without it but, who can say that tips arent welcome

A.I hardly every shoot standing, it would take too long to get off my gut. Gah i said to keep the elbow tucked in on my post but i didnt  Theres a stream in the pics(if its the ones Im thinkin of) behind the branches and everything, you may be seeing that.

Yea, the hat doesnt exactly break up my outline like my mask does. Especially with my bonnie hat over that filled with leaves.

Actually if somone who wears 2 layers of clothing comes with me I tell them too. And yes, the SHIRTS do get shot to shreds. I've only done it twice however, once in a hostage situation where i was voted to be the body guard, they shot at it a few times, we snuck right by 'em XD.

The other time i took my dad dark green raincoat and said i was gonna wear it until i got my ghillie done. At the time the woods looked a lot like that second pic, so it would stand out easy. In fact, i hung the thing near my brother shirt in that pic.

Theres a 3ft hole right behind where his shirt is at. We had our feet dangelin in it and a rabbit came up. He had just took off his shirt so i figure he threw it before the rabbit saw him so he could put back on the BDU jacket. As you can see, there are plenty of places for it to get caught on. That rabbit came up bout 20ft away from us before he saw us. I, of course had my ghillie on. Blah, now i sound like an old guy tellin stories...
