I've recently seen many people run around with Load Bearing Vests for paintball scenarios. Upon talking to some of them many wished that they could fit pods and such in them. I really liked the design, so i have ghetto modded a LBV to hold 4x 140rd pods, 2x grenades, and i've been looking for a ALICE h2o bladder.
personally i think they would be a big hit for those people playing in scenario games who want to look real milsim. just my 2 cents.

Wow, I did the same thing with a pair of load bearing suspenders, an army surplus belt, and a pod pack.

Yeah, they are basically the same thing...and you probably should be able to easily attach different pouches and items to regular LBVs if you don't wanna pay for the SpecOps vests. I personnaly prefer the vests just because the interlock system makes everything so secure that there is no way anything is gonna fall off, where as if you "jerry rig" your pouches to an LBV, they may end up falling off during the first couple of games.

well the whole point w/ the LBV is that the pods are in probably the most comfortable and easily reachable spots, plus they arent in the way if you lay down, and you can attach anything to a web belt. you can slide on the interlocking pouches on the belt, plus you can fit lotts of pouches w/ ALICE clips to em. the whole point is to make a vest thats very milsim but functional. i mean all spec ops vests are very functional but non of them look really milsim.

Look at the Alias Blackcell vest shell. It's basically a dagger vest with MOLLE on the front and interlock on the back. It's breathable, modular to move stuff around, hydration bladder sleeve, and has more attachment points than standard LBE harnesses.

i understand all this, but personally i like my LBV better than my broadsword vest or dagger vest. i just thought i'd add this for those who are looking for milsim stuff.
