First time I've gone out to take pictures (I played half the day, took the pictures the rest of the day when the guys I was playing with started leaving). Any criticism is always greatly appreciated, I was using the best camera I could find in my house, but no where near the best. I'm looking into getting a DSLR soon, anyone have any suggestions on lense/camera? Also, detailed explanations of the camera/lense/what makes them good are very much appreciated. I don't know much about cameras, but I greatly enjoyed photography, and would love to get much more into it.

I really like this picture, but if I were a bit more to the right, I'd get the person he was shooting at too. On higher resolutions you can see a couple paintballs in the air ;)

Would look a lot better if it were cropped

I love the way renters play, its always a lot of fun to watch, especially when they do super unexpected things.

Posted Image

This guy had his bachelor party at the field, its hard to see the white paint on his goggles, but he just ran the length of the field twice with everyone else in his party shooting at him.

Posted Image

Kind of pissed that I didn't get the rest of this guy/the rest of his gun.

Posted Image

Same guy from the last picture, Just before that game (he was playing a lot of one on ones, by that time most of the paintballers left the field and the airsofters were coming in), he told me he would only use one ball the whole game. I loved the way the guy played, and I loved his VM-68.

The rest of the pictures (and higher res versions of them) can be found here. Enjoy!

I like the first one a lot.

@TheEnd,

As in first in my post? Or first in the set on flickr? The first one in my post is one of my overall favourites, but it would've been so much better if I got the person he was shooting at too. It wasn't far to move either, its just there was an almost steady stream of paint going there, and I didn't feel like getting hit a bunch of times/its not really my camera, so I was trying my best to avoid getting that hit.

Yup, its what I used the whole day.

Its really annoying though, because sometimes when I zoom in (seemed to have to do this a lot on the scenario field), it'll change the settings.

As I said I really don't know that much about cameras though, so mostly I was just fooling with settings until i got something that looked ok.

Good. Yea, that happens. Normally you just have to lower your shutter speed though.

Yeah I think I was going with an ISO of 800, and my aperture was at like F2.8 or however low my camera would go (low as in numbers), and whenever I was zoomed in to a certain point, it would turn it up to F 4.5

I ended up just turning down the ISO and keeping the aperture around 4.5 so I would get more consistent shots.

I'm excited for picture taking opportunities this weekend though. Some very good teams are coming to play at a field near me early in the morning. I'll probably update this thread sometime during the middle of next week. I'm trying to make it out every weekend to take pictures, even if I don't have funds to play.

Pictures from a while ago finally uploaded, never got a chance to take pictures of those teams I wanted to.

Too lazy to post up my favourites.

No more pictures for a while, I'm busy, and have tryouts I need to go to for the next 2 weekends, then I have no idea after that.

Finally, new pictures! New camera too!

Heres some of my favourite pics that I took today. A lot of them were terribly out of focus, and a few of them here are still a bit out of focus. Still gotta get used to the new camera. Needs more pics of people playing, but I was just trying to get used to the camera, so I tended to take pics of anything that slightly interested me. You can find the rest here.

More pics. Party my team hosted at our sponsor field. We had tryouts in the morning for the team that I played on this past season, then the rest of the day was just good times with paintguns. Free rockstar, dj, free food, giveaways, lots of fun.
