it sort of speaks for itself just looking for a gun under $300 and these are the options list what you like, why, and how much if possible thank you

NOTE when it says other that means anything that you personally like thats not on the list
one shot one kill or 200 shots 5 kills your choice

Speaking from experince the 98 is one of the best markers i have every laid eyes upon.

It is VERY relible and with a good barrel and paint it can shoot very accuractly. Might be a bit loud but a rocket cock2 can fix that.

Off that list I'd go with the 98. That's what I voted. It's reliable, proven, and a ton of mods/upgrades available for it. As for others I'd think about the a-5 or a Ion. I have a 98 and I've never had a problem with it.

You should check the signature guidelines too. I know that pic has got to be too large. It would take someone with dial up a long time to load that page.

Cockers are about as quiet as you get with mechanical markers...

A phantom will teach you to be more accurate because of limeted fire...

The 98 is a fairly decent place to start out. Loud...Stock barrel sucks...The body is REALLY long.

In the end, the choice is yours...My reccomendation is that you try out as many differant markers as you can to get a good base for what you like and dont like.

Thats a tough choice. I would go with the 98 Custom if I were you, but that is just because I own one and love it. The other choices are great as well.

The pump is a great idea if you are looking for a change and are into that type of play. Playing with a pump is getting very popular, and is a great way to go IMO.

Cockers are great as well, and you can't go wrong there.

Really, you have a very hard choice to make. Try to find other people who use them and ask them about them, and maybe you can even test them out before you make your choice. Also, read about each of them on the forums. That way you will be able to make a more informed choice.

being that you posted under snipers im assuming that your a sniper, so.....
get the 98 $130 and now you have $170 to upgrade with (get a barrel, stock, remote and a good vest)
98% of the people on this forum will say that tippmann pwns all. If you are part of the 2% that doesn't agree that tippmann pwns all put this in your sig

i am selling an uped a-5 pm me if interested, but i would have to say maybe a tac one if you have the money. they are pretty quiet and accurate and come with a 2 piece jand j ceramic barrel, stock. but also a 98 is a good gun, one of the first guns that i have ever played with and that gun brought me into the tippman family

I myself just started playing and i got the 98, i love it!!! although i ended up dinging my barel on a fort to fort match when i was out of paint and pulled a leroy to win the game... kinda used my gun as a bayonet to ring the bell since i didnt have nuff time to grab hammer... preformance not diminished, just looks...

98C because you can get one for around $100, so you'll have around $200 on mods. Not to mention it's an extramly good marker. I use one and love it.

Phantom, we need more pumpers on here! reliable, accurate, light, fun to play with. cmon you cant turn that down, CCI has been making them since the 80's so you know they know how to make their marker!

i'd say for under $300.00 definitely go with the 98 custom. then trick it out a little bit. i've never had a problem with my 98 and i've had the thing for almost 5 years now. other than that i'd say an A-5, my fav marker. but if you're just starting to get more into paintball then go with the 98.

i love my sniper II. they too were made in the mid 80s. pumps are the way to go. ive gone to a 24 hr game and only use about 300 balls. and get MANY kills. and their quiet, very quiet. well bud orr made the cocker off of them if that tells you anything.
