Actually I believe Irish Mist IS Irish Whiskey...plus honey and some other stuff...let me see here...

"It is made from aged Irish whiskey, heather and clover honey, aromatic herbs, and other spirits, blended to an ancient recipe claimed to be 1,000 years old" - Wikipedia. Some sort of description like that on the bottle too.

Exactly, it's it's own thing. It's like Drambuie.

I like mead on ice. Next up, I want to use the mulling spices.

I have not found a Meade yet that I liked enough to purchase. All have been "too dry" for my taste.

FYI, Original Sin hard cider is freaking awesome.

Yuk. Hard cider is the pits...reminds me of Spiced Cider [which is also hard] and that makes me want to wretch.......lol.

Looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove Drambuie! I had a glass about an hour ago. Warm it in the microwave for about 10 seconds and throw a cinnamon stick in it. Let set for 15 mins and sip. Yummmmmmmmmmmmmm.

This stuff ain't half bad either:

Let me know how it is - their "Quinta Ruban" is some of the best stuff I've had... and it was only $55 (CAD!)

I wonder if AlphaBet City is open tomorrow. I could use a good bottle of hooch to deal with the relatives.

Figured there are some Whiskey/Scotch drinkers on this forum. Julios Liquors - Home Page - located on Rt. 9 in Westboro just 5 min off rt. 495. Is hosting their annual Whiskey A GoGo tasting february 27 from 1 - 4 pm. Last year it was $3 to get a tasting cup and you got 10 tickets with that $3. Technically they are supposed to take one ticket from you per drink, but many of the vendors wouldn't take your ticket (they forget), or you could try their 12 year, 18 year and 25 year all off one ticket. Was great. They have Whiskey and Scotch from all varieties and prices. Some bottles costing as much as $600+. One was called Roller Coaster, it was every whiskey and scotch one company made poured into one bottle, only 1500 bottles hit the US, and i got a drink from it, and damn...was it harsh. LOL This year the since PKJ says she doesn't want to drink i think i will bring her along and take the tickets from her wristband for myself. XD

I am not the biggest Whiskey fan but i loved it here. They give you a book when you enter that lists all the booths and all the liquors at each booth and their price for the bottle. I just went around and tried drinking from all the most expensive bottles. I found out some 25 and 30 year vintages weren't as good as the 18 year of some companies. Was just very fun overall. And there is a Ruby Tuesdays out the back door so you can eat and sober up after. They do have some small foods inside the liquor store to eat if you want too.

I had a blast with the wife and a friend. Anyone who is a drinker should come just for the fun of it. Julios hosts things like this for other liquors often, but only once a year does the whiskey a go go.

I saw a whiskey/wine tasting deal in Edmonton not too long ago... I think it was what, $200 just to get in? Not sure it included anything. Not cool. I can't imagine individual companies losing THAT much considering the advertising possibilities.

Man, I'm back to drinking like my... amm... "younger" days. Pabst Blue Ribbon and Evan Williams. Cause it's cheap.
Broke College student FTL.

Also, Seagrams Gin with Lime. Or really anything I can get for $10 a fifth or less.
