I'm wanting to paint red tiger (yes from cod 4) on my a5. The paint i'm using is cherry red by plastekote (automotive paint). I sprayed it on my mag for a preview but when i played one game it started to fade. i put 1 light coat and 2 medium coats on and used a grease remover before painting. any tips to help keep it from fading would be great

clear coats will work wonders for your home paint jobs.

EDIT: also, you should be sure to strip off ALL of the original powder coating too, if you're using that grease remover, and then make sure you have the marker sufficiently clean/dry before you even start to paint. and finally, the lesson I learned to be key and the only one I learned the hard way: make sure you sand the "naked" marker to give the paint a surface to hold onto.

I'd say a clear finish, though I know almost nothing about painting.
Yeah I use an M-16 grip, wanna fight about it?

Best webcomic ever.

Heavy prep and clear coat, and I'll move this post to DIY to get more exposure.

Good Luck

yeah, clear coat it. The cherry red might be a little too bright but it might darken a little with the clear coat. Post pics when youre done

did you paint the stripes on without any stensel or did you use strips of painter's tape?

The reason i say tippmanns work well here, especially with flatlines is because its common knowledge that they let off a sonic boom every time they fire. I tend to use that to my advantage -lethalpanther

looks really sloppy man. i would consider taping it off and layering it. and keep the paint at least 6 inches away when you spray. there is a tigerstripe how to on the forums here.
