I'm just trying to get a feel for what everyone's view out there is on the type of lens that should be used while sniping. I'm getting ready to buy a V-Force Grill and I'm debating on which lens to use.

Clear:
My instinct tells me that a clear thermal lens will be the best, given that you will be in a wooded area with tree coverage filtering out a lot of the light. A clear lens will allow for the maximum view of the field without dimming any lighting or distorting any colors you might see. I'm pretty sure this is the way to go.

Smoke:
I MIGHT see this as an option, seeing that black MIGHT blend in more easily than someone seeing the glare off of a clear lens. The downside to this, is that in a lower lit wooded area, it takes away from your visibility of the field.

Reflective:
I really see no reason for a sniper to use this, unless his name is Master Chief and he's hunting down Covenant fools. I just thought I'd throw this one on there to see if anyone picked it.

Let me know what you think! Thanks!

Although chromatic looks the coolest, sometimes function is more important than looks. With any tinted lense your vision is somewhat restricted in an unexplainable way. I really prefer clear lenses, it lets you see everything as it is without any limiting factor, just as if you aren't wearing any type of mask or sunglasses. If most snipers in the military use only their eyes (not sunglasses) than that's a good indicator that using a clear lense is your smartest and most functional choice. If the real professionals take the same route it must be for a reason.
EDIT: Remember this is my opinion, and I don't know if most military snipers use sunglasses or only their eyes. I'm sure plenty do in Iraq, but what about other military zones, such as ones not being as sunny or sharing the climate of the Middle East.

Reflective is obviously not good for sniping. Think about it. Then it's a toss up of wether you think you would need tinted or clear for when you play and where you play (depending on light).

I'd say yellow. From what I've heard it allows you to see contrast more clearly then clear lenses, therefore less shadows for people to hide in.
Yeah I use an M-16 grip, wanna fight about it?

I don't see a point of buying lenses online, same for paintballs. Too much can happen on the way to my house IMO

There's no paintball stores near me...Plus any decent store will make sure the lense arrives in perfect condition. Otherwise they will be recieving it back.

Photo chromatic is not chrome, the lense will change with the light. It will darken in the sun a d lightn in the shade. Transition glasses anyone.

Either Photochromatic or reflective. If you havn't seen a reflective lense in the woods, then you know it's a winner. When you're low to the ground, and lots of foliage near you, the reflective properties of the lense will grab the images around you and project them forward. Only downside is, if there's sun, you can be easily noticed.

Which there is most of the time...Even though they are great lenses performance wise, they arn't great for "Snipers".

I really like the amber or yellow lense but I hated being spotted by it. So now I'm using a goggleskinz on it so I get the benifit of a yellow without the downside of an easy color to spot. Works great!
