I mostly shoot closer than 40ft. :ghillie:
but my longest shot was my second game ever. I was playing with my dad on this local field and he was just staying behond this really long snake.so I aimed up in his general direction and shot like 8 shots, just as I heard the first two hitting the bunker, I heard"What the...." and then he muffled thunk of paintball as it splattred all over his mask.that was probably a 40 yard shot

i only take shots from 30-40 yards or the paint probly wont break
longest shot ive ever taken was at a kid in a house probly 35 yards away not really what anyone would call a long shot

it was around 100 feet away plastered his mask

but if you can always take shots that are close because lesss windage
and shtuff closer shots are always more accurate
you need me to point your fingers at and say thats the bad guy
but that doesnt make you good guys it just makes you cowards that dont have the guts to be what you wanna be...there are ambush snipers and ghost flankers im both!

i dont know my longest shot i do remember the luckyest. playing in a very urban field i broke a ball in my barrel and was trying too shoot through it. out of the corner of my eye i saw an enemy pass by a door way and i shot about 5 shots in the door way (remember i had just broke a ball very in accurate) figuring i could not come close i retreated too use my squgee after i fell back i see the enemy walk off the field.

after the game i talked too him and he said after he pased the door way he looked through a peep hole and one of my stray balls was there too meet him. i could not even see the hole from my position so in some weird way the ball i broke helped me out

I agree, the closer the better :D The closer you get, the more likely you are to hit your target with the first shot... :(

70 yards or more, because I have a 25 inch barrel and sniper  gear.

Really though, I try to keep it less then 30 yards

I suppose about 10-20 yards. The closer the better, but one game I made a lucky longball shot from about 200 ft away.

I usually shoot people from any position I play as close as is practically possible. Usually 20-30 yards with 20 being preferable.

Longest shot ever? It's about a tie. I was playing speedball in my buddy's speedball field. We were waiting to start and all had our masks on, but someone had gun trouble. So we were standing and waiting, and began making rude gestures at each other. One thing led to another and I placed my tank on my hip, elevated my muzzle and fired two shots, with the hope of walking them onto the top of his head eventually. Both hit him on his closely shaved head. It was probably 50-60 yards, and funny as hell.

In an actual game I probably had what was a 50 yard kill, which was only possible since there was no wind and I was shooting almost directly uphill, so no need to compensate ridiculously for range.

:ghillie: Well, usually I prefer to keep a distance from my opponents but to far away isn't good either because I can't garantee that my shot will land beyond 40 yards everytime, so 30 yards is the distance I am most cofident and have the best chances of hitting my target. I have though been practicing my shots beyond 40 yards but I haven't perfected it yet so I'll stick with what I know works.
Remember, sniping isn't always about the long shot, it's about landing EVERY shot were you want it, that's what seperates snipers from the pack. :ghillie:

This last week end I got a hand full of people out at about 100' but I really hate to break it to you guys but... The maximum effective range of a paintball (where it will break on a target at 300 fps) is 175' the max range of a paintball traveling in a desired direction is 210'. A Flatline increases max range to 250'. If you're aiming for guys over 150' then your pretty much waisting time.

personally i dont brag about my long kills, but instead my close kills. I mean getting someone at 60 yds. is just luck but getting somone when they are practically on top of you is skill.
Play hard, Practice hard, and most of all kick butt!
