The old-fashioned social site... the kind that's, like, a location.
Anyway it's where people who like music go.... find some local indie shows and support them, and if you can't find some bandmates there then... like.... well you'll find some bandmates there probably.

Craigslist is the bad neighborhood of the internet. Like a ghetto, it is full of scams and illicit prostitution. Any woman you see in the personals section is actually a guy who either wants your money or some pictures of you sans clothes. At one point, a man used craigslist to amass an army of look-alikes so he could rob a bank without being pursued. It's also where you can go to buy used, probably stolen goods for a sensible price.

Here in pensacola we have one called "pensacola area music scene"
It lists local shows, and you can message then saying your looking for a "guitar player and a drummer" and they will post up a listing on the page. Maybe start one for your area?
