Just to keep our presence here on Special Ops the Landing Zone is still going strong. We've done a bunch of improvements to the field since Normandy Revisited last season and keep adding/rebuilding. This year we will also be hosting the MilSim Corps League. For more information on the league visit www.milsimcorps.com.

For those of you who've been out to the LZ before some of the additions include:
  • More structures at Alpha Base (the base on the back side of the Castle hill)
  • Rebuilt the upstairs of Alpha Base
  • Completely rebuilt Russia Base (directly past Normandy)
  • More structures in the Ghost Town
  • Effectively doubled staging area
We are still planning on adding a Vietnam prison camp on the creek, putting more cover between Russia and the Alamo, putting more structures in and around the Castle, among other things.

Our scenario schedule looks like this:
  • 5/22/10 Invasion of Normandy
  • 6/12/10 Mafia Wars Charity Game
  • 6/26/10 Predator
  • 7/17/10 Halo
  • 8/7/10 Terminator: Rise of the Machines
  • 8/21/10 Battle of Shiloh (Pump Game)
  • 9/11/10 Operation Anaconda
  • 10/2/10 Lord of the Rings: Return of the King
  • 11/6/10 Normandy Revisited
MilSim Corps Mission days will also be open play (Refs will be running mini games throughout the day):
  • 4/24/10 MilSim Corps League Mission 1
  • 5/8/10 MilSim Corps League Mission 2
  • 6/19/10 MilSim Corps League Mission 3
  • 7/31/10 MilSim Corps League Mission 4
  • 8/14/10 MilSim Corps League Mission 5
  • 9/18/10 MilSim Corps League Mission 6
  • 10/16/10 MilSim Corps Major Battle (No open play)
You can check out our new website www.landingzonepaintball.com or become our fan on Facebook for the most up to date photos and info on the LZ. http://www.facebook....ngZonePaintball

We're looking forward to seeing everyone at the LZ this year!

Not going to make it out there untill the predator game. But I can't wait, love playing at the LZ!!!!
- Treat your weapon as loaded until you positively identify that it is not, and demonstrate that to others to their satisfaction.
- Keep your weapon pointed in a safe direction at all times, especially when in hand.
- Do not point your weapon at anything you are unwilling to shoot.
- Keep your finger out of the trigger well until ready to shoot.

Definitely going to the Normandy, and bringing a lot of people, hopefully.... Glad you guys added some bunkers around Alpha Base...
Aim for anything that is visible, most of my shots are either leg, elbow or head... that is if you see me first.

We're pretty excited about this season. Last year was a good one and this one is only looking to be better. I forgot to mention before but we also pretty much doubled our staging area.

If anyone has suggestions for things they'd like to see at the LZ we'd be more than happy to hear them. SPECTRE is having another work day coming up and we're looking for things to do.

Possibly some markings or something on the North side of the field, the south side has the fence and tree stumps,(I think the north side?) to tell when you are off the property, I know there is a path, and we can go so far off it, but possibly some ribbons to show where to stop.

Otherwise it's a fantastic field. :(

We are in the process of marking the boundary lines of the entire field. Unfortunately, due to complaints from some of the neighbors, we had to shrink our boundaries by about 50 feet around most of the field. The only place it's really going to affect play is back by the bridge, most of the current structure we have out there is going to be moved down the creek to the Vietnam prison camp.

I must come clean I'm a member of Spectre and we have put a lot of hard work into the field and were not done yet.......I hope that you players will try out the games out there and if you have or haven't been there before, there will be some thing new for everyone.

Will we be able to setup a team canopy in the new staging area?

Definitely! There's plenty of room for that now. We'll have some tables and picnic tables in there too.

Like Reaper said, it's going to be a good time this year. We are working on revamping the way we run scenarios so they will go more smoothly throughout the entire day too.

I was going to ask the same thing about the canopy, that's good now...

Yep, no worries! We also got another bridge put in further down the creek, put a few more sand bag bunkers back in the woods off of Alpha (preparing for our new Bravo base), and are in the process of putting more cover in between Russia and the Alamo.

What kind of cover between Russia and the Alamo if you mind me asking?

Like I said, itís still a work in progress, but weíve started. Right now itís only one three walled plywood framed bunker. Itís about five feet long by three feet wide and just tall enough that you can sit on your knees and look over the top.

Yesterday we finished up the new bridge, hung some net behind Normandy, put up some structures at our new location of Bravo base, dug out a few natural bunkers and put up sandbags around them, and put up our new targets for the chrono station.

Don't forget, our first open play game is this Saturday! We're excited to get people out to the field. For all the non MilSim Corps folks, don't be discouraged by our league play, it will be on a separate part of the field while we host mini games on the rest of the field.

MilSim Corps teams please show up at 0930 for a briefing on the league. Everyone else come out at 10.
