I'm still working on the gun threat though, but then again no one will ever have a proper plan for that.

Proper plan for a gun attack - GET MOVING NOW. Moving targets are harder to hit, as long as you're changing your position in relation to the barrel of the gun (it doesn't do you any good to run straight at or straight away from the gun)

If you have a gun, draw it on the move and shoot on the move. If possible, escape.

The goal isn't to kill the guy, it's to keep from being killed. If you can do that through avoidance, take that route.

Very true. Al much as I hate to run from someone who has the ... to pull a gun on me, I have thought it over and thats the best solution.

And if I have a gun and am forced to draw it, its only being drawn for one reason only, and its not to distract the punk so I can escape. THats on thing dad teaches, only pull/point your firearm at targets.

Dude, it wasn't cool. I've seen that video before. Hollywood scripting can make anything look cool.

I was at an ATM and the guy zipped up behind me in his black sedan with thumping bass, stopped short, and started to get out. I turned, had my knife out before I knew I pulled it, figured out where and how I could move to my advantage if he kept on coming, and glared until he got back in the car. I wasn't excited, I wasn't scared, I wasn't nervous, I wasn't anything. I was just ready to do my damnedest to hurt him if I had to. After he left, I got my cash and booked it. Hands shook a little from the adrenaline dump, but nothing huge. But it kinda reminded me it's good to be alive, if things had gone differently, I could have had a much worse day.

I got out of the shower about 10 minutes ago to the sound of my sister screaming bloody murder, jumped into some boxers, and ran to see what's up. Something, she thinks a dog (the "neighbor's" pitbull is our best guess), wandered up on our porch and attacked the cat. It had run off by the time I got out there. Grabbed a rifle and a light anyway and checked the area out. Cat got a few bites, but none of them looked life threatening. There was a lot of liquid, I think saliva, on the porch. I'm hoping the FRAGing thing wasn't rabid. I'm not sure my sister could handle burying another pet right now.

Would have been a DAMN good time to have had a handgun, specially one with a mounted light. In the time I spent finding a mag (forgot I put loaded mags in the backpack to add weight for a workout) and getting my grip right around the flashlight, I could have been out the door and hunting that damn mutt. He was probably to the woods before I got back outside. I know if we see it again, I'm killing the FRAGing thing.

Great, an adrenaline dump right before bed. Looks like it'll be another groggy day at work tomorrow.

2 weeks ago...Irene hits, causes massive flooding, spend the next 2 weeks working to help repair it. Now we have a ton more rain, and more flooding. The area we were working in had to be evacuated and the houses just have to wait, it's imperative we get them stripped before the mold grows, and the moisture in the air sure as heck isn't helping anything. This is really aggravating, on the bright side, School is canceled tomorrow..

Well, I guess after that mine is pretty weak...

So my sister is off to college in Baltimore. My parents decide that my car, which is newer and much better maintained (because I put the work in to it), can make it up there and back easier than her CRV. So, she gets my car (which, admittedly, my parents helped pay for) while I now get to drive her CRV. I drove it for the first time today, and immediately hated it. It's a 4 cylinder, so acceleration on it is a joke. It's boxy and sits high. I do light that it's not much smaller than my old car (Pontiac Aztek. Yes, it's ugly. But I love the damn thing!), but while the Aztek could corner almost as well as a car, the CRV is nowhere near as nimble.

Plus, she never maintained the thing. So I have to do some work on it. And it smells weird. Like, she left her soccer gear (and some friends gear) under the seat after practice during the spring, when it was hot. Ew.

Going to talk to my parents tomorrow about selling it (all the cars are in there name so the insurance/loans would be better). The only positive is that it's All Wheel Drive. So if the weather gets dicey this winter, I at least have that. Also, the stereo in it SUUUUCKS. And you know I gotta rock.

My job is to be an asshole. I excel at the position.

Update, looked the cat over. Not a even scratch. All the blood on her last night must have been from the pitbull, because she looks to be unscathed.

My cat whipped a pitbull's ass. :D

And I was right about groggy, I fell asleep on my lunch break, sitting straight up, in a loud cafeteria.

got some arc flash, molten material resistant shirts and slacks today ... man does this stuff itch, but it should keep me from EVER getting hyperthermia ... not that it would be a concern anyway on hot summer days in a blast furnace

not sure if this is a rant or an anti rant, but the short story is, i got doused with a drink a couple of nights ago by an old work buddies wife.

the long story is ... we went out for a night of drinking debauchery; muwahahaha; his wife tags along, like usual ... and we ended up at a gentlemens club.... partly because I know how much she doesn't like these places. She had been sticking barbs in my hide all night long, and for the most part, i played along nicely ... but once we got to the gentlemens club, we sat right up at the runway .... after about our 3 rd round, i took a 5 dollar bill, folded it, and held it up behind my buddies wife's head .. she did not see it .. i thought it would be funny, and maybe kinda hot ... who knows, right ? well, when the dancer leaned down to accept the tip and lay a smooch on her, she sorta freaks out, and launches her drink in my face ... we weren't allowed to stick around and enjoy the entertainment after that ... we got invited to leave ... ah well

That made me laugh klaa.

Me and my boss aren't getting along very well these days...sigh...he's a good guy, just way to old fashioned, and so my ways are always wrong (he is a sub contractor, but I am pretty much his partner, he just handles the money and payroll).... Hate the thought of getting a new job, but I feel that's in the near future....
