Well digging around in the basement for some hardware I came across some cam levers. Low and behold they are 1/4- 20 threaded and fit the Sl's.

Just thought it was kinda cool. Remove barrel or hopper with a snap of the wrist.

Not quite perfect.Since the barrel holds back the front bolt and the connected pump arm. A slight mistake and you'll have 3 parts on the ground, barrel in one hand and receiver in the other, and possibly having a ball(s) blocking you from quickly re-inserting the parts. Turns out to be one of those good "in theory" modifications. But in practice turns out a bit, un-needed. At least the feedneck one doesn't have issues.

But hey if I can find a smaller one that'll fit the barrel clamp on my Blazers that'd be very helpful, seeing as my fingers have issues with the thumbscrews.

On the bright side you don't need to take off the barrel to clean a break, just pull the pump handle back and swab through the side port.

A nice little mod. SL-68 IIs are for the most part, tool free.

Most of the time its easy, but some days I just can't turn the thing. Have to go through the other side with an allen to loosen it a little. Normally occurs after a day of play so that's probably most of the Problem. Nothing wrong with the thumbscrews.

Off to work see you in 14 hours.

You need to try to find some bigger cam levers... those seem really small . If you couldn't swab thru the sideport it would be a stellar mod, as it is, it's still a pretty good one. I do think some smaller ones are in order though.

Just wondering, how much does the new SL-68 II go for retail?

I think the average price is around $170.
