Bow season starts in 2 weeks!

Just picked up a PSE Nova 70 lb dw for $75..since my 20 year old Eagle Snapped its steel cable..while i was shooting it...drew blood

and apparently no one works on Bows with steel cables, since its like been outdated technology for like 10 years...

I want to get into hunting sometime...it would certainly be a handy skill to have.

Dove season opened labor day. Right around my house is prime dove hunting.

But my wing shooting is embarrassingly rusty, and I have been working every day. No luck.

I am anxiously waiting for whitetail rifle season this year. I might even pick up a .30-30 or bolt gun of my very own to get out there with. God, it has been too many years.

Do you have property around you for whitetail? Or do you have to travel?

I cant wait for bow season, last year i halfbutted getting ready for it. Didn't even practice with the bow , so i missed 3 45 yard shots, and tracked a buck 3 miles in the rain because of a bad thigh shot.

This year ive been shooting the bow every day for 2 weeks. And when rifle season opens i have my type 99 to try out.

My Model 70 craves whitetail flesh.

I have to wait until the first weekend of November to shoot one though.

Man, there are 2 separate families of whitetail living within a mile of my place. I could WALK to where they are normally found. And my family is friends with the farmers that own the fields around there. The woods are public land. I can get shots on them from my porch some days.

But they are way more active at night. Seems I almost hit one of the groups at least twice a week. Ain't no poacher though, so I'll leave the spotlighting to the rest of the rednecks.

It's not about practicality, it's about being lazy
