So I was looking over the email I got from Spec Ops and saw the new gear hangout http://www.specialopspaintball.com/shop/pr...sp?SKU=330+0005

Look close at the gun hung in the pictures, It looks like a SP-1 with a longbow adapter... discuss.

Definitely an SP-1. And here we thought Spec Ops was all tippman..

Work hard, play hard.. In that order.

Could be something new....My guess is that it's just a custom job or prototype though. I believe we'd here even more SP bashing if any kiddy got wind of Spec Ops making more systems for non-Tippmann markers. Who knows, SO may be buttering up Smart Parts the same way they did Tippmann....Doubtful, but possible.

The Longbow and Q Bow are both based on AGD Tac Ones, definitly not all tippmann. There was talk of SO making a longbow system for Cockers too, back a few years ago, but it never panned out.

The only way bashing would increase is if SP pulls their usual "let's patent something that has been around since the dawn of paintball and pretend we invented it" gimmick they seem to love to do. Or if they just claim to invent something new and special, that is neither new, nor special....take Seal Forward Technology for example...yeah that was new :P ...i have never heard of a Bolt in a marker before. ;) Posted Image God so many people bought into that crap and were like, "Now my marker has the accuracy of a closed bolt marker, but it's still open bolt." Ummm yeah...every marker but maybe 15-20 in existance does that. It is called a bolt. It's whole purpose is to seal the breach before firing.

Ion feednecks don't work for the SP-1 correct? So I would imagine that the Ion longbow system would not work on the SP-1. I'm sure with alittle modding you could make it fit, it's possible thats what the picture is as well just a modded Ion adapter on a SP-1.

The Longbow/Q-Bow feed feed adapter attaches via the weaver rails on either the Tac One or the tactical Ion body. So I see no reason why you would have to make any modifications to use it on an SP1 as it already has the rails needed.

The SP-1 feedneck is in there very very very good and I have no idea how to remove it aside from maybe damaging it, but basically if you get it out you should be able to mount the longbow clip system or Ion Q-Loader system on the gun.

the longbow reciever will fit on the sp-1 (standard rails as far as I know), but the sp-1 feed neck is permanently attached to the marker, you would have to permanently remove the feedneck for the reciver to fit.

it looks like they did that.

Im waiting for the day SP releases a new sp-1 body that has a threaded feedneck port, ill buy it in a heartbeat

that is corener's custom sp1. yes it's a longbow kit, but he had to permenently remove the feedneck.

You beat me to it.

I tried to find the thread where he talked about that, but I can't locate it for some reason. Oh well. Regardless, that is custom work. I guess that doesn't mean that SpecOps won't release something like that for the SP-1 though... only time will tell.
