IMO, seems bulky for an MP5 - but to each his own :)

Great work on the theme build, really as close as you can get.
I like the flashlight shroud you have there was that a custom piece or is it mass produced?

Custom, I trimmed some 1.5 inch PVC pip with foam insulation, attached 2 weaver rails to it, then just painted it black. It holds up really well for a mod with PVC piping and also closes the gap between the shroud and my apex.

I think what's making it look bulky to me is just the extra foregrip/picatinny rail.

A fine looking job.

As for heavy....it is an A-5! Of course it is heavy. :D

Its heavy but no more heavy than a real assault rifle. Although i occasionally run around with a 450 round hopper vs the regular 200 and you can imagine the weight that that adds.

Also the extra foregrip/picatinny rail add some stability to the gun, and are actually really comfortable. The slant makes it more ergonomical (even though that wasn't my original intent lol).

There's a lot happening there. If it makes for better ergonomics, fine, but I don't care for the slanted foregrip riser/rail, looks odd. That riser also makes it seem too visually front heavy, a basic flat rail mounted to the bottom of the SD shroud would look considerably better IMO. An open reticle site would help "lighten" the look as well. I love the home-mod flashlight piece, great work there. Overall I think it looks really cool.

As long as you like what you've done, have fun while you rock it in the field!

In all honesty i originally wanted the front rail to be flat with the shroud but the piece that i found wouldn't allow it to go flush(thought it would when i ordered it). The shroud isn't exactly built to have anything up under it. I agree though, it would look better if it would have worked like i originally intended.

Thanks for your comments guys, keepem comin!

I like the sight rail the way you have it.
As I discovered with my stock, its impossible to comfortably sight in along the top of the gun because of the mask. Your offset rail seems like it takes care of that problem.

Nice work!

Im willing to bet that with your mask and that offset you still have problems sighting through that scope.
I say this because I have the same mount and have the exact problem I mentioned.

I have a small riser between the offset and sight so it actually works fairly well. I can also extend the stock completely and let is rest on top of my shoulder while looking down the sight for more comfort.
