Last week I painted my hopper using the snake skin how to posted on this site. I think it turned out pretty sweet. I took it out paintballin' on the weekend and it even took a couple hits with out chipping!

I used camo spray paint from the local hardware store, and put a satin clear coat over the top.

I sprayed the green from the bottom, and the tan from the top. This way the scales get a little more depth to them because of the spray angles. It looks pretty sweet. And the diamond back pattern and colors work great out here on the prairies!

Notice below on the top diamond, top right face, how the line on the brown somewhat fades away into the tan? This happened accidentally when my female stencil lifted up while I was spraying. I think I like the effect it gave and when I paint the rest of my gear I'm gonna make sure all the diamond stencils don't sit right on the surface. Let a little bit of spray fade that line away!

I can't shoot fast enough to need anything more. It sits on top of a 98.

Much like the Ion rifle I just posted on, that is the sexiest gravity feed hopper I've ever seen. Apparently being on pain meds makes me interpret things as sexy... It does look very nice, though. Great job!

Sexy! Nature always has the best camo.
If he rips my arms off, I'll kick him to death.
If he rips my legs off, I'll bite him to death.
If he rips my head off, I'll stare him to death.
And if he gouges my eyes out, I'll curse him from beyond the grave.

how did you do the sand color? did the paint come that way or did you do a light spray over the tan to get the texture?

WAY COOL DUDE!!!!!!!!!! I like the whole snake skin pattern as a whole. but the Dimaond Back pattern looks really good. the imperfection makes it looks even better. no worries mate. kinda have inspierd me to paint my V2 Classic when it comes in. might do the black snake skind design though but idk.

Sorry for the late reply, I haven't looked at this thread in a long time! The sand color texture is the result of a light spray of brown over the tan color. After I finished all the colors and pulled the mesh off, it looked really tan colored, so I held it out and sprayed the brown color from a distance, allowing the spray to settle lightly on the surface. You'll notice in one spot where I got a little too close! This created a really nice effect and gave it just the color and texture I was looking for!

I'll be painting my marker this spring before the paintball season starts up. Hope it goes as well as this one did!

Nope, not yet. I'll be painting my marker here real soon before the new season of paintballin' starts up. Then it will match my marker!
