Ok, this is a thread for us veteran players who've been playing for at least a year or more consistantly. Here's a thread to show the new players that it's OKAY to look like new players. Why?

Before and after photos.

Here's the rules: keep comments to a BARE minimum, restricted to a sentence or two (not defined by punctuation, b/c we have those here who are punctuation impaired and could write a dissertation using only one period....or maybe not even that) for comments, and only about 1 paragraph (limit to 5 concise sentences) to describe each picture.

TWO pictures max. For direct links, please keep at or under 640x480, else use thumbnails that link to the larger picture in a seperate window (if this is too hard to do manually, use some place like imageshack).

Picture rules:

First picture. The earliest picture you have of you paintballing or just in your gear. MUST still be from when you were a new player and totally LOOKED like a new player. THe object is to show what we looked like as new players to what we look like now.

Second picture. THis is to be the LATEST picture you have of you in your gear, w/ or w/o marker. Hopefully you'll look a lot more experienced than in the 1st picture.

The object is to show new players that they may look like newbies now on the field, but as they play and gain experience and fill out their gear kit, that they'll grow to look more experienced and "cooler" (I don't use that term, though). So, it's OKAY to look like a newbie now. WHy? B/c that'll change.

That, and it gives us older players a chance to laugh at ourselves to see how we looked back then. This is a break-the-ice thread. Show the new players that we're not these eternal pure-pwnage gods of the field (we may sometimes LOOK like it, but we know we most definitely are NOT), and that we were new players without any experience just like they are. We're all pballers here. So let's let our pride down and show 'em what we used to look like.

I'll start.

This pic was taken a year after I started playing (pic taken in Fall of 2002. I started Fall of 2001), but I hadn't played MUCH during my first year (maybe a total of 4 games.... one every few months or so), and was a total n00b (I thought I knew much but I actually only knew very VERY little). This was after the game, so just know we did play with full face masks. I had a guy try and surrender me from 3 feet away. I didn't want to, so I spun and tried to shoot him (one handed, by reflex) with that marker. I MISSED, and this guy happened to be a jerk and shot me ten times in the face, even though on hit 3 I was yelling "OUT!" It was a PAIN to shave that next day b/c of all the little scabbed over cuts I got on my chin from the shrapnel. Here's the pic.

This pic was taken last weekend while at a friend's house testing out my new A-5 and the apex barrel. Nothing else needed. My writeup on the barrel is in the review's section.

Now, let the then & now pictures begin. Have fun, but don't abuse the rules, else I will ask a moderator to come in here and clean it out. NO dissing on current newbies here! Just gentle ribbing on each other. We're not trying to make ourselves look superior here. If you can't keep your pride in check, then don't post.

I'm all the way on the left.
Funny thing is...I look exactly the same now. Just a different mask, gun, and a pod pack.

Especially since he's from the area that I was raised in (Roanoke/Salem area), and I know of NO fields that look like those. ASAP, that is an AWESOME current pic.

The garden hose is a good indicator that he might be at his "home" field. Just an observation.
