Is this the Ion? or the Ion XE?

if you are talking about the regular Ion (no BOB) you can look at the following sites who can get you what you need:

Specialopspaintball.com (look for blackcell in their store)
Deadlywind.com (tac body made out of metal, makes the Ion semi BOB, and is an awesome company)

you will notice that the first site listed is Special Ops itself... the place that runs this forum... not saying that you should search more, but I mean come on.

If you are on the other hand looking for a tac body for an Ion XE you are out of luck as of yet, they have not produced any tac bodies that I am aware of

Galihad, I think he meant to ask if anyone has made a body out of metal themselves...

ah I see that now, hard to understand misspelled words the closest you are going to come to homemade tac bodies is WarCowboy's P90 mod do a quick search on the forum and you should find them

well lets see the basic design of an Ion makes it compatible with any tube-like structure I would wager that anyone with a drill, PVC pipe, and some tac rails could make one fairly easy

Jornum1 on Ionowners made a custom tactical body out of a hex-piece of aluminum. To describe it quickly, he drilled out the center to fit the firing can, breech, and feedneck, drilled holes in the bottom for the barbs/QEV, and milled out the sides into rails. It is absolutely amazing looking.

The full project can be seen here: http://www.ionowners...ead.php?t=26070

:D yea i was planning on making a body out of aluminum then weld some rails on it but it might be a little hard to thread the inside of the body for the barrel and the feedneck. :ghillie:

If you want to do something like that, you don't have to thread the holes for the barrel and feedneck. He did it for convenience so he doesn't have to unscrew the feedneck to take the body off. You could just leave the holes unthreaded, where the feedneck would screw into the breech (as it normally would). As for threading it for the barrel, I don't think he did that- it is pointless because you can just screw it into the breech anyway.
