I got a funny e-mail today, saying that every Tax Paying American should be rooting for the Packers.

Why?

Because if Chicago had beaten Green Bay, Obama would have gone to the game to support his "home town" team. That means Air Force One flying down, Tickets for the family (and Michelle Obama's entourage)... yeah. But since Green Bay won, Obama will watch it at home. So yaaay!

My job is to be an asshole. I excel at the position.

Bronco Ligursky is a toughguy... the Packers need to worry just as much about "Big Snack" as the Steelers have to worry about the "Freezer".

Besides, Pouncey is out of the walking boot & off the crutches. If he practices Friday it's go time.

That e-mail is two weeks old. Because they should have been rooting for them when they played the Bears. Now, it makes no difference - he's still at "home". As if the 200k they would've spent really would've made a difference to our debt .

So what are the oddsmakers in Vegas calling it ? Who's the fav ? And have any of the pundits on ESPN picked yet, or do they wait until after the game is played to decide who they think will win ?

I think the Steelers "D" will wreak too much havok with the Packers game plan for them to get sustained drives. I know that the Pack has a really good defensive coordinator, but the Steelers have the best ever in Dick LeBeau. And I think this is his last season with the Steelers as well. I have heard that he is going to go to Arizona to be with his old former Steeler buds after his contract is up this Sunday. That should be good news to all AFC teams if that is true.

From the oh so nice James Harrison: ‎"I just want to tackle them softly on the ground. If you can, can you lay a pillow down where I'm going to tackle them so they don't hit the ground too hard, Mr. Goodell?"

I hear he wants to spread some love on saturday. :P

Sorry guys, I'm for the Packers! The team with the most NFC/NFL Championship wins vs the team with the most Super Bowl wins. It will be a good game.

It will be an awesome game whoever wins. Arguably the two best franchises facing off, I can't wait, just two more days.

Here's my story...

Last year I accidentally cursed the Steelers...this has been a year to make up for it.

As many of you know, my son Robert was born premature. 2 and a half months premature and there were some pretty scary moments.

I have been a life-long Steelers fan. On the night Robert was born, the Steelers had beaten, then undefeated, Denver on Monday Night Football. The next day, as Robert lay in an incubator weighing only 2 and a half pounds, all the sports shows were saying how the Steelers were the "team to beat" and that they were the best in football. The doctors and nurses, knowing I was a fan, commented that it must feel nice. And I said...

"I don't care if the Steelers lose every game they play as long as Robert is doing well".

And they started losing. It was the strangest thing. They were losing to teams that shouldn't have been in the same league as the Steelers. They were all close losses too. There times when they would be winning and Robert would take a turn for the worse...then they would blow the game, and Robert would quickly turn around and do well.

Once Robert was out of the woods for the most part, we tried to break "the curse" in different ways...but nothing worked until we got him his own Terrible Towel to have with him in the hospital. They won their last 3 games but it wasn't enough as they barely missed the playoffs.

I swore that Robert and I would make up for it this year!

This Sunday will be the culmination of us making up for "the curse" as the Steelers win their 7th Super Bowl...but their first in Roberts young life.

Aaron Rodgers may be good...the Packers D may be good...but nothing can overcome the power of my healthy little boy waving his Terrible Towel this Sunday!!!

GO STEELERS!!!

The Towel is a force...

We went to the Rally last Friday night at Heinz Field - My wife & I, our son (6) & a couple of friends. I've never seen him so excited, w/ a smile ear-to-ear, as when he waved his "Terrible Toddler Towel" (that he's had since birth) when Ben hit the stage.

As if the Towel wasn't powerful enough, the Packers also need to fear the beard.

Go Steelers.

Soooooo happy the Pack won. The Steelers are a great team and they play well, but I hate them for the trouncing they gave my Cards in XLIII. As my friend said, in a post-game discussion over some of the ref's calls, "there's a reason they call 'em the Stealers." :P Ah well, justice was done.

Seriously though, was that halftime show lousy or what? Seriously, freaking abysmal.

You would think if they plagiarized music they wouldn't be terrible. But no, after stealing from deadmau5, black eyed peas were still the worst show in recent memory.

While its depressing the steelers lost, the 3 turnovers, and 0 takeaways cost us the game.
Great win packers, bad loss steelers.

Packers played a solid game. Glad to see them win. Thought the Steelers offense screwed them over, and I thought the Defense could have run just a little tighter.

Still wish I woulda seen Polamalu end a career though. :D

Good game, I guess :D.

Packers D played a good game & Rodgers did exactly what he needed to on O. Congrats to them on a great victory.

Steeler O: The turnovers did kill us, but I can't blame Ben for both interceptions & for once I can't blame Mendenhall for his fumble, at least not entirely. That was Kemouatu's D lineman that hit Ben's arm on the pick 6 & I blame him for splitting the two defenders instead of picking one when he pulled to block for Mendenhall. For the only original starting lineman he's actually had one of the worst years, he makes me crazy. It's a stretch to blame him solely, but it makes me feel better ;). If I were the Rooney's he would've had a pink slip in his locker after the game.

Steeler D: William Gay is the worst CB to ever start in the Super Bowl. The only possibly worse performances were the starting corners for San Diego 15 years ago when Steve Young exploded. If he weren't a free agent, pink slip.

Penalties: Only one really bad call the whole game, the face mask against GB. Clearly not one after watching the replay, at full speed I can see how it looked that way w/ the defender grabbing the pads under the face mask, but a bad call nonetheless. The personal foul called against Fox near the end of the game was kinda weak, yeah he hit him when he shouldn't have but there was some other pushing & shoving going on & the GB guy did a decent job of acting. It's Fox's fault for doing it & I don't have a real problem w/ the refs calling it, because he's been making stupid decisions like that all year on special teams. Definite pink slip.

Regardless of all our faults, we still had the opportunity to win the game w/ the ball in our hands. Oh well, there's always next year - Packers vs. Steelers at XLVI in Indy... as long as there isn't a stoppage.
