I own an A-5 with a WAS board, but I play with speedball players. I was wondering if I should get an electric gun. If I should, what one? Think in the $300 range. Thanks for the help.

Promaster FTMFW!

I am going to post a Promaster FAQ thread(eventually). That way it can be compared to the Ion with out making a billion threads. I think the gun is alot better than the Ion. And at about $300 that's really all you're looking at.

You gas up the marker, put on the gloves, strap on the mask, and walk onto the field.. it doesn't matter that you failed a test, that your girlfriend broke up with you last night, or that you got a ticket on the way there...your world is right for the next couple hours, this is your heaven on earth... live it... love it..

How the hell could you stop me? Why in the world would you try? I go hard forever that's just how I'm designed, that's just how I was built.

If you already have n2 and a halo which I doubt u have a halo since you have an A5 halos are 95 bucks at compulsive. If you can afford it promaster if you cant ion.

promaster/ion becuase its an elctro pnumatic marker(s) meanin less profile, less weight, more fire power(in some cases),more efficient, more accurate but if u like youre a5 then sitck with it cuse its all about prefernce really

Promaster rundown:
Pros:
PDS(Paintball Detection System a.k.a. eyes)
Aluminum Body
Adjustable Blade Trigger stock
Lucky QEV stock
Poppet Valve(easy to work on, pretty effcient)
Low Operating Pressure(150-200)
Upgradablitly(not as many cosmetic ups, but performance ups)
30bps claim(keyword is claim)
Dipswitch for Easy Mode Change
Autococker Threads
Can Use Halo/ReloaderB with Stock Feedneck
8 Modes of Fire on Stock Board
Cons:
Changing Battery Requires Opening Clamshell
No Stock ASA
Heavier and Larger Profile than Ion
Not as Many "Bolt On Mods"

That's what I can think of now, I'm sure I am missing something. I'll update later if I can think of something.

Honestly with either one you will be fine either will crank out 15bps and both have enough upgrades to make it pwn. In your position if I had the money I would get the promaster if not I would go for the ion either way it will be much better suited for speedball than your a5 but if your not having problems then whatever u can keep it and still do fine.

You'll have to upgrade the ion to be able to compete with high ends. I'd just get the promaster.

Get the ion, install a QEV and you will be fine you will keep up with all the high end markers at a third the cost, besides the standurd tourney cap is 15 bps. I run a A-5 and have doen quiet well aginst DM-5,TIMMYS, IONS, IC, and thoes junky auto mags , its all about what works best for you. good luck
