I squished the head of an huge carpenter ant at about 10 PM last night... I only squished the head... Here it is 9 AM and the body is still twitching!

I must be slightly demented!

I hate those house centipedes.... When we lived in the basement of this building we'd find them all over the place. The biggest was about 4" long. Smacked it with a flyswatter. It was the first bug I've seen explode.

We also had issues with earwigs in the bathroom. I'm the first person I know to ever have been bitten by one.... In the shower. Tried to swat the thing as it was climbing up my leg.

y'all would just "love" florida then. no see ums, palmetto bugs (giant versions of normal roaches), banana spiders as big as a plate, mosquitos afraid of nothing, spiders of all sorts (mostly poisionous), and all the other creepy crawlies you could imagine. especially fire ants. god help you if you so much as smell like food.

How 'bout them cicadas...

Posted Image

They're just annoying, not really gross. House centipedes take the cake for me though. Those things just need to evaporate into thin air and never appear in my house again. They were a problem in my basement most the time too. Now they ventured through the vents to my room and argh. I'm about to make an improvised mini-flame thrower.

did I die for a second there?...

DUDE!

I swear I had a mosquito the size of that Cicada, land on my little finger while I was in Boot Camp in Parris Island S.C. in 1992. I thought it was going to devour my pinky!!! So i swatted at it in formation... My D.I. promptly escorted me to the Pit... where I then learned about the Sand Flea!!!

Since this thread has turned into the Bug Extermination subject.. may as well... I hate Hornets, Yellow Jackets and wasps. Last summer I empted an entire can of Wasp/Hornet killer on gian t hornet.. The thing shook it off and flew away!! :tdn:

I promptly realized it was gonna take something else to kill these b-stars... CCI Phantom to the rescue! It works great, and improves your aim! You also are forced to wash the paneling on the house, unless you're okay with it. So unless your a bug, its a win win situation!

I remember in fifth grade there was a giant bee on the bus...

Posted Image

That's not the exact kind. I just wanted a picture of a big bee.

Anyways, everyone was running from seat to seat trying to avoid the bee while the bus driver watched and laughed. Safety issues anyone?
Anyways, it came in to my seat and I cut it in half with a thin book, and the one half just flew out the window. I was scared.

did I die for a second there?...
