The oddest and coolest thing happened with my freind's 98 today. we dont know what he did with it, but while screwing on the tank, the gun suddenly starting spurting CO2 out of the barrel... it froze the barrel cover. and he unscrewed it a little bit, and whenever he pulled the trigger it would happen. so it actually looked like a CO2 flamethrower... we froze a water bottle. and CO2, even in gas form, is COLD... someone trying to bunker him might get a nasty surprsie... jk

Needless to say, he rented from then on. but has anyone else seen something like this before?

I believe that is due to a cracked power tube. The power of compressed CO2 is pretty cool. The fact that the marker is broken takes away from it a bit. Letting CO2 rush down the barrel like that is also a good way to wear out o-rings. However, it's still fun for a little while. Naturally, never actually try to bunker someone with it - it is pretty powerful stuff and it doesn't take much exposure to cause frostbite. It's like upturning and spraying one humongous can of keyboard duster on someone.

one time while camping we had a tank of something or other to cook with I believe it was propane but not sure well while I was screwing it on it's regulator snapped off and this cold air started shooting everywhere in which I got a burn on my wrist and watched this tank spin and freeze everything near it
it was crazy

I saw something like this at an indoor field once, funniest thing I can remember in my paintball playing years. A guy on our team was renting an old Tippman Carbine and soon after the start of the game I hear the common sound of a Tippman burpping like it was out of CO2, but this one didn't end. After about 5 seconds I looked back and the kid is standing up behind his bunker holding the marker out at arms lenght over his head with it burpping with a cloud of CO2 coming out of the barrel, out of the ASA, and out of the feed neck and hes just standing there looking around and saying "What do I do?" You'd have to see it to get the full effect but we almost died from laughing.
