My dad bought a freak back to use on his mini, and It doesn't fit at all. I compared the threads of the stock barrel and the frak, and the OD is off by less than a millimeter. Why is this so? Although it gives me an excuse for me to steal the freak for my sniper, I feel sort of cheated.

On a random side note, I was shooting with the stock barrel, and it actually is REALLY nice. It has ball on ball accuracy on semi. But It gets worse on ramping.

We will be sending the stock barrel in for boring soon, though.

stock barrel is very impressive when you find a good match.. My buddy runs marbilizers in his all the time and rants about its ability to shoot straight.

Odd that the cocker threaded freak wouldnt fit though. I lent my friend my freak for a day to use on his mini and i took his JJ Ceramic. Perhaps is a small defect?

yes he got cocker threads since he said he stole it for his sniper. (sniper is a pump autococker before you start trying to correct me)

Also in response to why it doesn't fit... The way the Mini was made made it so that some autococker threads don't quite fit into it... don't ask me how I'm not exactly sure, if you will give me a tic I'll look up where I saw it

edit: found it http://www.pbnation....d.php?t=1901430

doesn't explain a whole lot I know, but if nothing else it shows that you aren't alone in your frustration.

Older cocker threaded barrels dont work for some reason. I have a Freak, Longshot, and an Edge and they all work.

I don't really want a different barrel than my stock barrel for the mini. It shoots more accurately than mine lapco bigshot.

I don't really see the point to freaks kits. If I have a decent starter barrel (which the mini has) I would much rather getit bored for insterts rather than buy a complete new barrel.

I imagine I'll get my mini barrel bored out eventually.

 I do absolutely love my barrel. The problem is, right now, I don't use my Mini that much (getting more and more into pump :)). I have the largest insert (.693?) in the barrel and it's the only one I have even put in the gun! Out here, in paradise , we have issues with paint quality (size quality control) so the whole kit isn't worth it for me. :ninja: Hopefully when we go back to the East Coast this summer, I won't have the paint issues and will really see the advantages of the system.

I suspect that it will be well worth it. I highly recommend O'Dells Paintball for the work on your barrel. I did a review about it in the barrel section. You might have to search, it's been a while.

Aloha, Doug

If the person on the other end of your gun does not walk away eagerly anticipating the next game because of your actions,
you have failed as a paintballer.
