Sound Off, Whos Going?

D-Day is rapidly approaching us. In anticipation of this event, I felt it only proper to share any information I have on registration. You must register as soon as possible to avoid the unit you want filling up. Registration is already near 2000, with a cap at 4000 I believe this year. Go online at ddayadventurepark.com and register online securely by credit or debit card. Dont forget to print out the waiver form as well.
Hotels are filling up fast, 2 of 6 are booked for this events timetable. They also tend to fill up closer to the field faster, so if you're late in planning this youll be driving from Joplin! I found a great deal at Best Western (bestwestern.com) for $69 a night.

Below is my posted information on our teams forum page: Hope it helps potential DDAY players.

D-Day Adventure Park 66800 E. 175 Rd. Wyandotte, OK. 74370 (918)-666-3411

DATES:

JUNE 8TH-14TH, 2009

DEADLINES:

BEFORE JUNE 8TH! All 4000 slots will fill up quickly so send in registrations and waiver forms as soon as possible!

AGE LIMITS and other FAQ’S:

1. Do I have to sign a waiver if I'm over 18?

Everyone who enters the playing field, whether player or spectator, must sign a waiver. You must also wear ATSM approved paintball goggles if you enter the playing field for any reason.

2. Does my parent have to pay the registration fee if he is only going to watch?

No. Only players (participants) are required to pay the registration fee. You can bring whoever you like, and there is no charge! Only if they play!! If you are a player, your guests are also welcome to camp with you as long as they like!

3. How much paint do I need?

Expect to use at least one case of paint during the game. If you are going to play any of the mini-scenarios or a pickup game on the speedball field, you will need additional paint. In that case, you should plan on a minium of two cases of paint.

4. Registration Form & Waiver Form

The registration form can be printed and faxed or you can fill out the registration online and pay online. The waiver form will need to be filled out by someone 18 years of age or older at the event. If there will not be one there, you will need have your parent sign and fax the waiver in to the Bunker.

5. What do I get for my $70 entrance fee?

You will be entered in a number of drawings for prizes. Your air is paid for the entire week. You can participate in any of the activities without extra fee's, except the sniper course ($18 extra).

6. What is the age limit, and what waiver's do my parents need to sign?

10 years of age, or older, your parents must sign your waiver, not you. We would prefer 15 or older if not accompanied by parents.

7. What Unit should I join?

This is entirely up to you. Your first step in choosing a unit is to choose a army. Your basic choices are German, or Allied. IF you go Allied you have some more options, You can go Commonwealth (British, Canadian), American, or French. Germans dont have that same type of national division of the Allies, but they have a whole myriad of Units. The third step, is to read over the unit descriptions found on the main page, or ask around to get a description. A good place to get this kind of info is in the Recruiting Depot. Once you find a unit you are interested in, contact that unit commander for more detailed explanation of what they do and to find out how many, if any, player slots are availabe. Units have player size caps, especially in some more elite unit.

Yeah we're usually in the 15 person range...20 a few years back. So it's nice to see the entire team head to DDay this year. It sure makes camping a lot of fun. ;)

One quick question, how much does Dday usually cost?
I'm just looking for a general idea of how much for one person to save for the 2010 game.

In the first post it says:

Registration $70.00
case of paint $65.00

You need to determine how many cases of paint you want to use.
money for food and lodging, money for gas, extra spending cash.

Minimum $500.00-800.00 is my estimation.

Hope this helps ya

Exactly deathskull.
to help break it down:

In addition to the 135.00 to play (an average player will use 1 box of paint, but we all love to have fun, so...2?) you could estimate 70 a night for a hotel (2 adults, kids under 12? free) , or camp which is included as a five dollar charge in your reg anyway, but assume all costs of camping in OK in JUNE. Eating at the cafe is not expensive, kinda reminescent of home cooking, but could cost 30 a day for three squares. And if you plan to patronize any of the numerous vendors (certain ones give out freebies, so keep your eyes peeled, i got a free barrel last time) you must bring money for what you plan to buy.

To be frank, Im at 400, that is a hotel room for three nights, TH/FR/SA chkt SU, reg and 1 case paint. The point is, ya wanna be comfortable; some even rent RV's. I met players from Europe who flew over to play, Two from AU also i believe. many hotel it with as many in a room as possible, many camp, LOTS carpool. Ive seen some pay only 135, ive seen others spend thousands, its your call. Compared to other games, I think its worth every minute, win or lose!

On another note, if anyone is coming from Kansas City or surounding area and is interested in carpooling, our area has teams who are going and may be able to provide appropriate resources. This forum is a great place for that.
:)
Weekly Schedule to come.

We camp as a team. My breakdown:

$70 for reg.
$65 for case of paint.
$60 for gas (carpool).
$70 for food all week (camp fire).
$50-100 for toys.

So yeah, right around the $400 mark if you buy stuff down there (like new masks, barrels, etc.). They have great deals from the vendors.

If you skip the extra purchases, you're looking $300 if you camp (depending on how much gas you need).

Great info Del. Should make this a sticky for future reference Mods!!

GR and BB have 67 registered to date and expect to have our usual 125-150 with friends/guests of the teams. If you are going Allied go Ranger with Devils Reject and friends and If you are going Axis sign up 709 with GR and BB as these two midwest teams will be on the same field and you are guaranteed an awesome exp with either team no matter your exp at DDay.

Any votes on which side will take it this year? Im choosing Allied, close in points though. Overall I have a sneaky suspicion that this is going to be the best DDAY yet!?!? The Beach Im told is where the most intense fight will be...also looking forward to seeing the new Pegasus bridge. :D

hehehe :D

Either way I made it a personal objective to see and be involved in all huge firefights this time round. Last time my orders were directed towards counterintelligence, farce, rear assault (ok, ok) and kept me from half the fun. Eventually was split from secondary objective group I was leading anywayz after massive retaliation by germans very cleverly encircled us.

From the timetable I can plan to be at the beach when the points are up for grabs, being yall are going german, ill be seein ya!

Why no 82nd Airbourne this year?

Team voted to play a main objective/beach and do something new/fresh. When Zeke and Bass took command of Utah it was only natural that beach became Utah.

We also missed out on the main fight last year and didnt want to do it 2 yrs in a row.
