I like using the A-5. Its heaver than the ion but much more durible. I have never actually used the ion in woodsball, however, several friends of mine that have both ions and A-5s say that they would never use the ion in woodsball instead of their A-5. If you are going to be using the A-5 though, try and get a lightweight barrel. I have a flatline (rather heavey as barrels go) and have noticed that the gun is not very well balenced with that much weight on the front.

even though i luv tippmanns just go with an ion its cheaper to keep electro and its lighter and just beasts the tippy in this lightweight section (well without spending about $800 on one *cough*dagger mk 2*cough)

edit: get a body kit for it like the blackcell

*reported*

Next time put it in the "marker v.s marker section"

If you like speedball go with the ion, it is also good for that and woodsball.

But the a-5 is good for woodsball, but not as good at speedball as the ION.

Consider gettting other guns. Spyder's if choosen well and maintainted are excellant for CBQ, Heavy Gunner and Speed Ball. The Tippmann 98 Custom Pro is also good for what you want. Consider other options. The ones I metioned are also cheaper. Pm if you want to find the better spots for buying them.

If the person on the other end of your gun does not walk away from the game eagerly anticipating the next game because of your actions,
you have failed as a paintballer. Put this in your sig to help spread the word.

i hate how people say the Ion is not durable. they are both equally durable, except the elctronic factor (i.e. water, etc...). The Ion will lay more paint down faster than a Tippy and it is queiter and it is lighter. I fell of a 7 foot tower and the gun was fine.It actually shot better for some reason. You don't need to get a agitated hopper because it has eyes.(still strongly recomend one though, cough Halo B w/rip last hopper you will ever buy)

You can almost use the a5 for any position. Also you can mod it to look like a smg so it would fit the dagger position more.
If we can't do it, it doesn't need to be done.

I'VE had i couple guys complain about how there electronics get messed up with there Ions, But if you play even just a little bit of speedball you might aswell go with the Ion (a good mech could'nt hurt though)

Ion, beats out the A5 in just about every performance category. As long as you take care of it and know what you are doing, it will last you a long time.

I say it all the time... if its the only marker you own go mechanical... it sucks big time when your electro craps out in the rain and you have to either sit out or borrow or rent.

But thats me I only play outlaw ball and scenario, and at a scenario if my gear doesnt work I go completely insane!

I've played in the rain for a whole day with my Ion and it worked perfect all day.
