well during the spring break my Special Ops Action Ghillie finally came!!!! after the longest 3 months of my life.

anyway the production was pretty simple ( i bought the kit) . the toughest part was just zip-tying the leaf onto the mesh. but even that was easy. one thing to remember is to go through and cut out a bunch of the loops in the leaf so it doesnt catch on a lot of stuff. especially on the front, because if you are hardcore like that, you'll be crawlin' on your belly.

so i decided to put it to the test after i was finished. (i worked all through the night on it. took from about 3 pm till about 4 the next morning. like i said, id been waiting forever....)

so i had 2 of my buddies hold up an orange board about 2 feet wide and 4 feet long out in the woods. i had to sneak up and take a shot on the board without being seen. i was able to accomplish that the second time. but the first time i came up over the crest of a hill (crawling of course) but i was sillouetted by the sky and my movements were accented.

out of the ghillie suits ive used, i give the action ghillie a 9.9/10 (for gohst flankers anyway). it camoflages almost as good as any burlap ghillie, but like the article says, the benefits such as mobility, ourweigh the slight loss of camo.

if ny1 has any questions ask away.

.....thing of beauty....... ;)

Sounds cool dude. With my experience, the longer it takes to make a ghillie the better the quality when your done. I've seen the action ghillie in use, and its not much different from any other ghillie...well, not much different from any well put together ghille. Still, a good investment. I made my ghille from scratch though, but the action ghillie was pretty cool. It does have good benifits of having better mobility and it weighs a lot less when finished.

yea. one of the features i thought was cool was that it was...cool! it is really breatheable and watnot. and ill definitely beleive that spending lots of time on a ghillie, especially if its from scratch, is rewarding and usually offers better camo. I know from experience.

this brings me to the only downside of the action ghillie. As many color choices as there are, it isnt the same as dying your own burlap to whatever shade you want. but that doesnt necessarily matter actually. i was at Oklahoma DDay and this guy had a DESERT ghillie suit. But when he was out in the woods and you didnt know what to look for, it worked just as good as anything else. basically what it essentially did was break up his human-looking outline (which is what any ghillie should do). so i really dont think it matters THAT much.

its about the same actually. i mean every once in a blue moon it will snag but not much. depends on the density of your woods, but in all honesty there isnt much difference. so long as you cut out most of the loops in the leaf. :)
