Hello all! I have admiring (sp?) all the cool way awesomeness paintjobs, ha! But yea, they are so very cool!! I worked on a viewloader I got from wal-mart. here's a pic included. BUT!! I've been trying to paint an A-5 for the past 3 weeks, and i'm just been doing the hopper, well i can't get the paint to stick. When I apply the blue painters tape, it peels it all down the plastic, I've tried 3 times working on my 4th. I'm doin the spray the base coat then apply stencils, spray again. So, I just applied the last top coat now, so we'll see what happens, but for now I wanted to show my first job.

First off, very nice work.
As for your A5 hopper problem, I've dealt with that before. On many kinds of plastics the manufacturers use wax in the mixture to help with mold release. You have to get this wax off before you can paint on top of it. The very best way is if you can get your hands on a sandblaster but hand sanding can work just not as well. Make sure you use a high grit sandpaper though. Also, another way to help prevent lifting from happening is to use multiple light coats as oppose to just slathering the paint on in one pass. The theory being that the solvents in the paint will actually melt the outer surface of the plastic and give the paint bad adhesion.

Hope that help ya out.

Thanks Big Bone, well the hopper painting worked. ...uh I found my biggest problem with the whole thing. Clean and Oil free! Ha! this last time I made sure to wipe down the hopper with alcohol, and that I didn't touch it with my hands. Oh, and I bought another type of tape, "delicate", well it seemed to work. I was able to pull most of the tape off with a 98% success. ... only thing, I put too much white in my digital camo, wasn't pleased. But oh well, trial and error, huh? I used the "female" stencils style with vewloader, which was alot easier. The digital camo had to be done this way cuz I don't own one of those air brush things ha! Again thanks for the advice. I just wanted to show off my veiwloader, hope I can do more. Thanks!!!

NICE JOB! The more paint jobs you do the more you learn about different products.
