I recently went with my pointman to ref a game(nuttin better to do) at a field about a half an hour away with me behind the wheel. However, it was under a bit different circumstances. The boundries werenever to be crossed because I believe you could be prosecuted to going into a place you didnt have permission. This place was a Naval test facility. They test weapon systems and whatnot for the Navy because its a military base. So yea, it was a lil tense knowing that, until the games started. Then it was just another day. We did only show up for 3 games because of me not having my license and having to wait on my dad, but we still had fun(as did the players.)

Regardless of the security issues, didnt have to go through any checkpoints but we were very close to one, I was still allowed to take pictures and I managed to squeeze a few in the last game I reffed.

I've heard a few people say that they played/reffed on a military base.

How is it that you can play on government property?

I'm curious..........

Pretty crazy, were you allowed to play there, or did you just play there 'cause it was a good location?

In some less-populated and used installations, the garrison commander will grant permission from time to time.
This is my sig. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My sig is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. My sig, without me, is useless. Without my sig, I am useless. I must type my sig true. I must spell better than my enemy who is trying to judge me. I must type before he ridicules me. I WILL... My sig and I know that what counts in this forum is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the splatter we make. We know that it is the hits that count. WE WILL HIT... Before the Admins, I swear this creed. My sig and myself are the defenders of my forum. We are the masters of our enemy. WE ARE THE SAVIORS OF MY PROFILE. - Tippmann Owner #pi

They actually have a semi-public rec field. Theres a baseball field, woods, horseshoes, etc. thats open for the public, but intended for those on the base. I actually heard about the game, that was inteneded mostly for people on base, thrrough a flier and e-mailed the guy who was organizing it. I hear through him that, and then later met up with, a rec-field(PB) owner was in charge of rentals and all that so once I got there I talked ot him about reffing(although already confirmed that I was going to do so).

Well I talked to the organzier and it sounds like they're going to try and do this again so hopefully if I can get mroe than just one 'mate to show up we can help them out and get interest going in their area.

Yeah...We have a place called "Ellsworth Airforce Base" it's part of the Air Force Academy here in South Dakota. But since it's pretty much just a giant monument, I bet they would let you play on the base's grounds...Just you would have to remain so many yards/meters/miles away from the installation itself.

Sounds like fun!

Looks like a -great- place to play...Ah...I hate fall. e.e All of your soft cover leaves you for good until Summer time again.

Lots of military bases have fields. Whether public or not. Cousins NJ is inside Fort Dix Army Base. West Point Military Academy has a paintball team, and they are allowed to host two scenario events a year in the West Point region (Past few games have been Camp Buckner). You also have games held at Camp Blanding dwon in Florida. I keep seeing a lot of MOUT facilities host scenarios. I also know that there is a field at Lackland AFB in Texas. I haven't been able to see that one.....yet. :D

Ft. Lewis up here in Washington State has a field. It is open to the public as well. I used to work for the original promoter/organizer until 98. New promoter/organizer has been running it since like 2000 or so. They are all over the place, I heard about Ft. Campbell in Kentucky having one as well.
