im just wondering what you people think is reasonable, i thought 1 or 2 games, more if they argue

lets say that this is clearly wiping and playing on, not like they thought a hopper hit doesn't count or something

Everyone is equally briefed and equal punishment is delt for the first offence, theirs no reason to give more punishment to one or the other becuase of experience, they know thier hit or they'd ask a ref.

It shouldn't matter whether a player is a renter or not. The penalty for playing-on/wiping should be the same regardless. I would penalize a player one game for his/her first offense and an additional game for each subsequent offense.

i always try to make a good safety speech that includes things like the size of paint and a shot anywhere even on your gun or hopper counts
and all those little things, but from a renter i think i might want to pull them out of that game but not sit them for 1 on the off chance that dident know the rules, but a gun owner they would know for sure, nobody agree with me???

We used to give people the "Do not wipe hits" in our orientation, but we don't anymore. When we had that in the orientation, we actually pulled a 1 for 1, or up to a 3 for 1. And we made sure that the players that were pulled were informed why as well. I never witnessed anyone wipe, so never had to enforce a penalty. Now, since we don't inform people, we actually wait to see if anyone does wipe. If they do, we call them out, explain why they are out, and then make sure that everyone else gets told to not do it. Tourney players know to not wipe, and unless we actually see it (At best, only two refs on the field, many times, only one), there is nothing that we can honestly do about it, unless the wiper admits to it. When we have tourney players there, we make sure that they know the rules, but since it is not a tournament, we don't do penalties. Afterall, everyone payed to play, no one wants to get pulled because someone else wiped, and it isn't fair to them, especially when there is nothing on the line, simply play and challenge oneself.

When I see people wipe I generally give them a nice warning and they either call themselves or stop asap.

I believe in giving a warning the first go round. If it happens again, its one game sit. I have actually never had to pull anyone in a walk on game. A scenario is easier. Punch their card and send them to the dead zone. Happens again, the second card punch and you head to the house. I ref mostly scenarios and the occasional walk on day so even thou I am a certified ref and have been for a little over two seasons, the others have probally more experience then I do in this matter.

Now I'm not a certified ref, but I do ref speed and rec here. No matter who it is, first time I see em do it, they sit out next game. Next time, 2 games. Third, they're gone for the day. Renter's and more experienced players alike.

ok heres how we roll with a private group. each person get a whrist band. if the person gets 3 hole punches on his or her whrist band they are done for the day. a wipe counts as 1. removing your mask on the first time if it wasent completly off the face is a warning. second time or if they took it off completley its 2 punches. you fight you are escorted off property and if u give one sighn of force police will be called. if u own your own marker and velocity is exstreamly hot like chrono being 280 and the gun registering 300 + thats 2 punches. so on and so forth. we also have a sighn above our door that says, steal here, wipe here, die here. lol

If someone who should know better wipes, then I'll pull them, but if they're just there for a stag or a party or w/e, I give em a warning...

I would give both of them a one game sit for starters. After that I would remove them for the day. It should not matter if you are renting or you have your own gun, they both know the rules.

I would give each a warning first, then have them sit for a game. First time: warning. Second time: sit for a game. Third time: sit for three games. Fourth time: rest of day ban. I do that for anyone regardless of their experience. Unless someone attacks someone else or me, I won't ban them permanently.

Every time somebody shoots at someone who isn't wearing a mask, someone drowns a sack of puppies.
Every time somebody purposely overshoots someone, a dolphin is harpooned and eaten alive.
Every time somebody wipes, a family of bunnies gets run over by a Steamroller. That's why they have to reproduce so fast. Theoretically, that's how dinosaurs became extinct.

if its a rental, i'd do a one game sit as they're proberbly not regular players and jus out for a bit of fun.
Own gunners o the other hand, they proberbly play on a regular basis and would be well aware of the rules, so i'd make them sit out two games.

The fields I have worked brief the "no wiping" rule...that is their warning. Everyone gets the same penalties regardless. Just because you own a gun does NOT mean that you necessarily have any more experience. I know players that used rentals every 1-2 weeks for over a years before buying a gun and players who have bought an Angel before ever playing. Cheating is cheating and if you are going to penalize people, penalties should be consistent.
