Will playing reball cause my ion to break down faster and need more parts faster? Or will it have no effects what so ever?

It wont cause any problems.

Just make sure the reballs are nice and clean and nothing should happen. If they are dirty, they can scratch the inside of your barrel causing bad accuracy.

If anything, I could see the reballs wearing out the stock detents faster. Now how much faster? I could not say. I switched to Kila's magnetic detents almost as soon as I got my Ion anyways.
