Hey there everybody. I'm looking for the author of this poem:

One bright day in the middle of the night,
Two dead boys got up to fight,
Back to back, they faced each other,
Drew their swords and shot each other.
When the deaf policeman heard this noise,
He came out and shot the two dead boys.

I found it in the book Xombies by Walter Greatshell, 2004.(Good Book)
He quotes a lot of books and movies but there is no "quotes taken from" section in the copyright info. I love this poem and wish to use it in a paper for school, but want to give credit where credit is due.
If he rips my arms off, I'll kick him to death.
If he rips my legs off, I'll bite him to death.
If he rips my head off, I'll stare him to death.
And if he gouges my eyes out, I'll curse him from beyond the grave.

To my knowledge it's "Author Unknown" or "Anonymous".

Did some googling. Its "unknown" and there are tons of different versions. Seems like one of those passed down from generation to generation things.

One fine day in the middle of the night,
Two dead boys* got up to fight, [*or men]
Back to back they faced each other,
Drew their swords and shot each other,

One was blind and the other couldn't, see
So they chose a dummy for a referee.
A blind man went to see fair play,
A dumb man went to shout "hooray!"

A paralysed donkey passing by,
Kicked the blind man in the eye,
Knocked him through a nine inch wall,
Into a dry ditch and drowned them all,

A deaf policeman heard the noise,
And came to arrest the two dead boys,
If you don't believe this story’s true,
Ask the blind man he saw it too!

yes.

It's one of them folk-poems from the Colonies. Used to tell it all the time at summer camps.... there's no author to speak of.

I like the full version much better! Thanx a bunch everyone. :(
