OK I just got an SP8 and slapped a Virtue/Clippard QEV on there and as soon as I gas it up air shoots right out of the other side of the QEV. The end opposite of the hose. I have a High Pressure Output 68/45 and an un-adjusted reg.

Is the QEV in right? Screwed in all the way and not striped? o-ring? Is it new or used?

It's somewhat used. I used it for a little while on my A5's cyclone. I'm going to try teflon tape now.

Are they the same? Can you try it on your a-5 to see if it works on it?

edited. and the way it's threaded and the SP8's firing can it can't be screwed in super tight. Edit; forget it I'll just leave it as is until I can get a 360. But now I'm still having the TINKLEy little problem I said in my considering an SP8 thread;
Only when I turn it on it blinks for a few seconds then DOO DOOs out. I've tried 2 different batteries and same thing. It will turn on, blink, then poo out. Then I have to squeeze the connector so I can turn it on again so the same thing happens. But I'm not sure of the power level of the batteries. One is the battery that came with the gun and the other is one out of my E-grip.

the way to fix that leak is to run 2 or 3 teeny tiny ORings that stack between the threaded plug on the QEV and the firing can....or a large amount of teflon on the threads.

As far as the QEV leaking out the back of it, the poppit inside is either dirty with grease or worn out...or if new, it's sticking because it's not been used yet.

If new, just shoot air through it...prhaps < 300 shots to get it worn/seating properly.
If clogged with grease, disassemble it and clean it.
