Hi, I was wondering, In a general NPPL tournament, what is the noise/sound that kick off the game, I need to know for a school project and would really appreciate any help that anyone can offer, Thanks.

I know xball uses a buzzer, and most smaller tourneys have a red yelling. I would imagine nppl was a whistle or a buzzer.

Official NPPL rules state that the starting device must be: "a gong producing a noise not to exceed 180 decibels but no less than 120 decibels."

So there you have it.

The ref says:

10 seconds in 3,2,1 ten seconds

Then he holds his hand up, looks at a stopwatch, and waits for ten seconds, when ten seconds have gone by he says:

Go go go go go! (number of goes may vary  )

We played every event last year... no gong.
