so it seem like the past few months after every day of play, i am limping for 2-3 days afterword..its my left knee (which i injured seriously a while back)..every time i play i bust/twist/slam/etc it against bunkers/rocks/the ground.

now i just got home from playing, and my knee is throbbing like no tommorrow, all swollen up to..just from repeatedly sliding onto it today

so i was wondering what you older guys do to prevent injuries with allready injured body parts? was thinking of maybe buying a knee brace? and i allready have decided to get knee pads though i doubt those will help it much

thing is, i have to be able to pass several physicals in the near future, and with my knee like it is id fail big time ..so the biggy... Should i quit?

NO! Don't quit. Get some good quality kneepads and take it easy, don't get so intense while playing.

If in doubt, consult a medical professional.

If you do quit can I have your Sniper? :P

Talk to your doctor about it. It could be as simple as buying knee support, having to play less often/less intensely, needing surgery or doing specific exercises.

i have the same problem bro, but it is nothing i would quit over. go to a physician, get a knee brace, take some I.B. profen <i know i spelt it wrong lol
that is what my physician told me and it works for me. i have had bad knees since 6th grade but i just work around it. and seriously, if it is THAT bad tone down your play. you can help it. i toned down my play and my knees are better than all the other times. most of the time my knees are like throbing, swollen, omg i can barely walk condition. just make these few adjustments and you will be fine.

I got an idea!
Go buy a DM9 and start playing back instead of running and doing supermans and stuff.
Or you could go see your doctor.

A knee brace and pads will probably help, but you should consult a orthopedic Dr. and make sure you have no structural or other issues with the knee or require a particular type of brace.

I killed my left knee years ago playing softball, had surgery, and haven't had any problems since, but I wear pads and a neoprene brace to keep it warm/loose. My friend Bill has torn his ACL twice and even though it's repaired, his Dr. prescribed a very high-tech brace for it, and he's had no problems doing anything thus far. Your best bet is to get an expert's opinion, not ours.

I seriously cannot stress enough taking care of your ankles, knees, and back when playing paintball. I've torn the lateral meniscus in my right knee early in my life (before I graduated high school, thank you high school sports) and experience a myriad of problems due to that if I'm not careful on the field. Factor in many other bone breaks and various muscle issues and the following day after paintball (usually a Monday) my 25-year old body functions like that of a 60-year old body.

I'd suggest (if you don't already) stretching out and warming up. Before I ever play a show (drummer, former guitarist, former bassist) I stretch. Before I used to fight (MMA), I would stretch. Before I play paintball I stretch. Before I do anything very physically demanding, I stretch. I've experienced and witnessed several serious injuries by "cold starts," or not warming up before an activity. It doesn't take much, truthfully, to hurt yourself and you've only got one body to live the rest of your life in.

Take it easy (restraint takes more skill than explosiveness), see a doctor (make sure this isn't the onset of much more serious problem), and take care of your body, bro.

Believe me, I learned my lesson the hard way. (Or so the doctors at MEPS told me before I was denied entry to the armed forces)

Heh, i hardly ever slide, but I don't play speedball much.

Reffing's not a bad idea, you could also get into paintball photography.

Braces and pads, stretch before and after, and icy hot and motrin. Take it from someone who knows. :dodgy:
