This person could carry mines, tripwires, detpacks(anti-tank mines), and grenades to booby trap a whole area like a big road to the CP.

There could also be a minesweeper who's job it is to carefully remove traps and dispose of them or reuse them.

Lets see... I can carry about 12 mines at once. Yea that with a pistol would be fun, but being a minelayer, eventually you will end up carrying no weapons at all =). And those mines won't last you as long as you think. Fun idea though.

Any position can do this, it just involves someone laying mines, and setting traps. And anyone can also defuse mines and stuff like that. This is more of a task then a position.

I like the idea but you could kind of wrap this up into a demolitions position or heavy weapons. Getting caught up in being too specific a role in a scenarion can relly limit the player's playing and ruin the day for them.

The position you're talking about is a "Sapper". A Sapper is just someone who specializes in land mines, booby traps, trip wire traps, etc. I consider myself a Sapper. A Sapper doesn't spend the whole game carrying 10 land mines around trying to plant them everywhere while ignoring the rest of the game. I have alot of different ways to set traps. Most of my "traps" fit inside a pod so you can just carry them in your pod pack and they can be deployed quickly. I usually only plant one trap per game. All my traps use a trip wire either stretched across a path or behind a bunker or tied to a prop. As soon as "game on" is called I'll go plant the trap, which just takes about 2-3 minutes, then I get into the action and enjoy the rest of the game. It's cool when you see someone on the other team walking real slow looking for a trip wire when there's not even one around them. That's when you know you've gotten in thier head. Last Sunday I tied a trip wire to a defective two way radio and left it lying on the ground. When I tried to call that radio it would just beep real loud. So when I saw a player on the opposite team get near it I started hitting the call button on my radio. He went for it and when he picked up the radio he got hit with 4oz of orange paint.
