as stated the point of this poll is to put an end to the useless banter of "lets make this position" ect.

please vote for other people's ideas by replying via post to their posted ideas within this thread.

please no useless banter about how this that and the other thing are just stupid. this thread will be complicated enough without the flaming and the arguing and the like.

please no compliments, disses, or discussion of anything on this thread. we will do good to keep this thread clean. and if you absolutely must state your oppinion, one or 2 sentances please, and no discussion of another person's oppinion on this thread.

if you have to discuss something with someone about this thread please do so via pm. if you dont want people pm-ing you please say so after stating whatever it is you have to say.

lets keep this thread for usefull stuf only. and no oppinions, their is no need to make people suffer because of your ignorance of the facts, thinking something is someway despite the facts, or the combination thereof, bigotry.

thank you, and have a great day.

lolz... the multiple choice thing devides the individual's answers into the percentages, rather than "90% of you agreed with this" its "20% of the votes went this way." another thing specops needs to fix... yay.

The one position I would like to see added that was not in the lineup: Ghost Flanker.

Ghost Flanker can hardly be considered a position, it's definetely a great sub-position though. I think it should be a sub-position off of the Dagger, it would make more sense, but that's just me.

well cqb's kill unexperienced people so a specialist for that would be aight and a spotter for a huge scenario sniper would be interesting but other thatn that a booby trap wuld be decent hehe (mommy mommy tommy caught a booby he said he got something with his booby trap.!!! I WANT TO CATCH A BOOBY MOMMY I WANT TO CATCH A BOOBY!!!!!-lol three year old)

I never really liked positions myself - I think people get way too into them and start taking things a little too serious. Restricting yourself to a position can be limiting if you let it. You don't need a "broadsword vest" to play broadsword and you don't need to have a marker that is aimed at doing one specific thing. There are markers out there that can pretty much fulfill every position excellently. Equipment is a personal thing just like your play style - you should be purchasing gear that is aimed towards your personal needs rather than trying to fit into a position and buying gear that fits into that image and position. In the end you need to find your own way and be an independent thinker. The other thing I think people do wrong is try and take a military perspective on it and relate those positions as if their in an actual military squad. Paintball and woodsball in general is nothing of the like.

However, I think they do attract a lot of newer players. For people getting into the sport it gets them to start asking themselves what kind of player they are and what they like to do. It gets people drawn deeper into the game. As long as it isn't taken in a restrictive way it works.

^^ i agree to that. if it wasnt for the specops positions i would never have found my true love... the double trouble. i wanted to be a sniper so bad when i started. i did it well, and avoided the newb sniper mindset, but i got bored because i wanted more firepower. not to mention the fields aroeund here arent all that sniper friendly. when specops came out with the ghost flanker, and tyger re opened webdog, i found the ghost flanker. that got me up off the ground and flanking. and now i found my true calling... supression. so in a way specops positions had a very real impact on my play, as well as my friends'.

the people who take them too literally usually learn later that its a bad idea, and those that try to go hardcore milsim would do that anyways. i think the positions should stick around and have a couple things added. simply because this is a scenario andf woodsball based company, and there are a few pretty common positions other than the main roles already mentioned, that would be solid additions. to me those are the javelin, ghost flanker, anvil, and possibly some sort of scenario specific section (demolitions, medic, engineer, xo, general, special character, etc). that way all scenario roles arecovered in one swoop, and all the main roles are covered. you have positions for every personality type you meet at a scenario or rec game, and you get to log what your role was at any specific scenarios.

i dont see a need for the boobytrap thing because there quite frankly isnt enough player presence to deem it worthy. out of the MANY scenarios ive been too, i was one of maybe 2-3 players that even owned or dealt with boobytraps. uber specific "positions" ( i.e. all this "recon" talk), are non essential, because any player can do it. i can plant myself at the intersection of a trail in full hammer getup, and achieve the same thing as a sniper or dedicated "recon" player.... and that is radio back or sound an alarm. big whoop. a noob could do it.

so that's my 2 cents.
