Can I still go to the army? I haven't used an inhlaler since I was 14, and my hips started popping real bad last year, but I'm going see a specialist, could I still make it thru MEPS?
well, there's a lot of factors that would need to be looked at. i personally didnt have any physical problems in my history when i enlisted, but a buddy of mine had a bad shoulder, which he had surgery on multiple times, and another with knee problems with the same issue, depending on the job you want, it MAY be an issue, but recruiters can also sign waivers for you to be accepted in.... ya just gotta ask, and maybe a lil push and a shove, and you should be able to get in. also... be aware of the MEPs doc, they ultimately have the final say, BUT, you can also get around them if you play on your words a lil bit. when i was at MEPs, the doc asked me on my individual inspection if i had ever been "diagnosed" with scoliosis, to which i said no, so it was no worries, BUT DO NOT LIE about anything like that, they're kinda stiff about that, and could get you on a "breach of contract" before you ever leave for basic... but its also possible jail time.... or so they told me. i hope i could help out. im not going to tell you my opinions on it, because i dont want to make it sound like im trying to sway you one way or the other, but DEFINITELY think about it... its a big commitment, and a huge change of life, so weigh out your options.
