If you play sniper only, utilize a 12- 14 inch. If your into playing multiple roles, utilize the 8.5inch flatline for A-5, just choose your paint carefully, some brands of paint a a brittle shell. out of 1500 rounds ive had one ball break, but i think it was due to me holding onto the response trigger unloading a whole hopper at once. all i had to do to clean the barrel was loosen off , yes loosen off 2 hex boltsthe barrel pulls off quicker than a tight threaded barrel run the squeggee through and screw back on tighten 2 hex it was done. At long range the 8.5 inch flatline usually hooks to the right a bit but the ball floats its ther than its in your face. most barrels cant shoot as long and far as a flatline. 100 yards for an average 12-14 inch. flatline 8.5inch 150yards. its not highly accurate at that range but other barrels cant even think of shoting that far. the other thing with a 8.5 inch flatline is use air, and make slight adjustments to the barrel either turning it slightly left or right before you tighten it down. that way you can use the slight hook it has developed over 100yards. Have fun i do own a 14 inch dye excel its an accurate barrel and i love it, but it sucks when your trying to do snap shots or crawl through the bush it catches everything and if somone sneaks up on you you cant turn around very fast cause the barrel cathes every twig ther is. so if your a 100% dedicated sniper go for the long barrel to poke through the under brush and carry a side arm, if you like to mix it up a bit and utilize the A-5 8.5 inch flatline its more accurate as hell compared to other barrels under 12 inchs, and it looks sweet.

I suggest the J&J performance- all star kit, You will be able to adjust for all sizes of paint (important for accuracy and less breaks ).

go sniper12! heck yes word for word follow sniper12. i would like to add that never get the flatty as a sniper barrel. i know it only takes one shot one kill. but you take out one person from a 5 person group and they are bound to sweep the position that the VERY LOUD bang came from.

bty i was looking into getting the hammerhead, is this the barrel?

Flatline or 16" barrel. Hmmm, depends on your position and style of play. Flatline is mostly used for supressive fire :) whereas 16 inch barrels are mostly used for accuracy  . Both require a little more gas force to get the paintball out. The flatline (from experience) can be quite loud and intimidating. A 16 inch barrel (depending on porting) are quieter and more predictable accuracy.
