So I need ideas for a birthday present for my girlfriend. I am terrible at this kind of thing. We have only been dating for about month now. The kicker though is, before we made it offical, we were like best friends. I have known her for 15 or more years. Our parents know each other and are good friends too. In the past, we would have gone to dinner, had a drink or too, and that was it.

Should I just go with a dinner at a nice restarunt and some flowers? As for me cooking her a dinner, that's probably out of the question, as I am more liable to start a fire then actually make something edible lol.

If she's comfortable enough to go to your house, try and cook her dinner. Hell, even if you screw it up and end up ordering takeout, she'll like the fact that you made the effort.

Hell, I hold a Culinary degree and still find this routine golden.

lend her the bike, and you wont see her for a while.

but i know im only 16, but i have been in a 2 year relationship before, and the dinner cooking was the best idea. I made chicken Parmesan, and didn't know that was her favorite.

Birthdays are over-rated. A simple- "Happy birthday" and a kiss go a long way. Just don't forget.

A month left of college classes has never seemed so long. Spring break messed me up, went to warmth and remembered what it was like not to work my ass off. Get back here, its been pooring and mid-30s all week. I have tons of homework, teachers like tripled the workload cos theres a week less of classes than normal (i dont see how that results in them giving us that much more work though!). Im getting pretty burnt out, and slacking off because of it,w hich just means more work for me to do...

blah, cant wait for summer with paintball and work and the easy life

I was going to order an mcb jersey. My dad had been telling me he would give me the money for it because he still owes me a lot of money for working for him last summer. Today he tells me he doesn't have the money. He then came home with two 30 racks of beer....FML I'm really sick of this crap. I also feel like absolute crap right now. I'm really not in a good mood.

Thanks very much for the offer but it is too late now and you never would have let me pay you back.

Lets see. I knew my days were going too well. Today was the day that the good days ran out.

So let's see. I go to work last night, and after doing all my work alone AND helping THREE other people close, I get out at going on 1am. SO I come home, catch a catnap, and am BACK at work at 9am. So, my BRILLIANT General Manager decides that since we had a prom yesterday, Easter tomorrow, a Coupon drop Wednesday, AND it's the first of the month (And don't even get me stated on how people on Welfare can afford to eat at Ruby Tuesday, when I work there and can't.), I should work BOTH sides of the line solo, until my relief is supposed to show at 3pm. TO say we were busy is like saying that the Pacific Ocean is "damp". So after working my guts out all day (oh, and I got electrocuted, forgot to mention that I zapped my whole arm numb and had my heart racing for an hour), 3pm finally rolls around and I think "Great, at least my help should be getting here so I can go do what I had planned all week to do (go to a gun show in Fayetteville). Well. 3pm, no help. 3:30pm, no help. 4pm, I ask where both of the 3 o'colcks are. No one knows. 4:30, still no sign of them. FINALLY, about 5 minutes until 5, they show up. Culinary Manager apparently had to go to another store to pick up some chicken. He lives 20 minutes from that store. He shouldn't have been 2 hours late, except if I know him, he was screwing around, jacking his jaws with his buddies. Other dude is just a screw up. Great, gun show is closed for the day. There went my plans. At least I can leave now right. WRONG. The chump on my side is supposed to be the Culinary Manager, but instead of handling that side by himself (remember, I handled BOTH sides all day by myself), I had to do my side work (for the third time that day) AND cook his food. Then, 6:00 rolls around, and the last guy in (whom I had started to expect to be my relief, even though I should have been gone 3 hours earlier) didn't show. He calls about 20 minutes after he was supposed to be there. Calling out. GREAT! So, while they are figuring out what to do (I flat out told them that if they asked me to close, after a full day with no break, I would quit and call corporate) We run out of paper towels. We get cases of thousands of these at a time, HOW DO WE RUN OUT? SO, instead of going home, I get to make a paper towel run to Sam's Club (I am the only one with a membership other than the Culinary manager, and I wasn't getting stuck working the line while he screwed around). So, after 10 hour straight, with no break, almost no sleep, and not having eaten since about 3pm the previous day, I get to leave at 7pm. What's for dinner when I get home?

Salad.

SALAD.

I hadn't eaten in 27 hours, I think I could handle a bit more than a salad.

No, there is a lasagna, pizza, burritos, and all kinds of other food in the fridge. But since mom wanted a salad, I get to run a whole day on roughage.

Luckily my beer is still in the fridge. I feel the urge to kill something. I wonder what a 7.62x39 hollowpoint will do to a tree rat.
