Commander: "Joe, you and Ted are carrying out operation "Mule." Your mission is to carry these supplies to Bravo Company, who has secured Checkpoint Charlie... Op-Force is contending that position and Bravo is bingo on Ammo."
Thats about as good as I could imagine it... but that would not be a fun position to play, unless you are Abby the Pacifist.

Now put that into the prespective of a scenario... You take a town, building, fort, hill, ect... After the dirty work is done, your team has spare paint and air to defend against a counter attack! The "ammo runner" as wee call him, loves his job and we have made it a pemanent position on our team.
Again, great idea!

That sounds cool and all but wouldn't it be easier just to be like "Joey we need you to lug a bunch of ammo up to Fred, Bill, and Frank, they're at that big rock cluster and they're out of paint..."
"Maybe God keeps us on earth, just like we have beef farms for cows. Then, when we die he eats us... I just freaked myself out. Be right back, I gotta go pray"-Kook

I'm pretty neutral to the idea, i know of guys who just have that nice personality and would love to help out fellow squadmen. To me it can go either way.

I like the idea. Might implement it, actually -- although I wouldn't do it without a gun of my own. This is what we call a "force multiplier" -- while the guy carrying all that extra ammo isn't going to be very useful on his own, he makes everybody around him more combat effective. Picture how much more you could shoot if you had a case of paint pre-loaded in pods that followed you around.
It's worth thinking about. And BTW, the preferred term 'round my parts is Shirpa. A great way to get out of a formation is to be "shirpa" for the day and carry everybody else's bags.
