I am SO SICK of all the crap people are throwing around about Obama being a socialist and his socialist policies being the reason why our economy is failing.

OBAMA IS A JOKE WHO HAS ACCOMPLISHED NOTHING to impact our economy in any realistic way.

Have the rich had their taxes increased? Not yet. Have they spent their money to give people jobs? Not yet. Have the swearwords who are on Wall Street gone to jail for crashing our economy? Nope. Have the Republicans done ANYTHING but say NO TO EVERYTHING since they got elected? Not really. Has Obama's policies had ANY significant impact on our economy? Obviously not.

So quit bitching about him being a socialist and how his philosophy on economics is to blame for our financial woes. The stalemate in congress over the debt ceiling and everything else is why the economy is in such dire straits. GET REAL. All of those politicians are contributing to the failure of the economy. BOTH SIDES OF THE AISLE.

If all people do is spend their time swallowing anti-Obama garbage spewed by Republicans and the Tea Party, then they'll never see that both sides are equally bad.

Interesting point kind sir. If I may offer a rebuttal.

THIS is a massive socialist hole in your argument.

I do agree that both sides are a bunch of liars though. Just because I recognize Obama as a socialist, doesn't mean I think the GOP aren't a bunch of snakes.

Obamacare may be one socialist ploy, but MOST of its components have YET to take effect, and therefore are not directly impacting our economy. The impasse in congress is by far the most powerful reason for our predicament.

Im not oppose to the concept of said 'obamacare' even though my states medicade is working for my autistic son right now.

I do favor equal percent of income tax for all
I want my troops home so I can buy them a beer
and term limits should be in place for all elected offices

Politics is a game. It's played by people who want to take your stuff from you. They use rhetoric and emotion to stir you up and get you excited and looking at anyone but them as the problem.

Rich people blame the poor, poor people blame the rich, the Dems blame the GOP, the GOP blames the Dems, they both blame and suppress those outside their bipartisan enclave ("Tea Partiers" are for the most part libertarians who got suckered into the hype), state gov blames the Feds, the Federal gov blames state govts, the Banks blame the Federal Reserve for making money, credit, and loans too easy to get, the Fed Reserve blames the Banks for making credit, cash, and loans too easy to get, ad nauseum.

Newsflash, they are ALL playing you. And many people are buying it hook line and sinker.

Realizing this game for what it is, take the next step. STOP PLAYING THE GAME. Do and pay only what you absolutely must in order to avoid waking up to a SWAT team. No more. Your only responsibility is to yourself and your tribe. Not to the establishment.

If you can hire beancounters and crooked lawyers to find loopholes that let you legally screw the .gov/IRS, then DO SO. Your country has made it a point to bend over and prison FRAG you and everyone else you know since were born. You do not owe them the hard earned fruits of your labor. Find ways to pay less and keep more. You earned it. They didn't. Don't give it up.

Use what you've keep from them wisely. Do NOT give it back to them. It might cost something, but surely not as much as the system is looking to take from you.

And get used to telling "king and country" to go choke on a fat one. They aren't your friends. They look to take from you under the pretense of "help". The only ones they look to help however, is themselves. Recognize it for what it is. And then look out for the important ones in your life. As Gabe Suarez would say, GFT. God. Family. Tribe. That's it.

I love Retro Threads. <3

LOL! Obama's policies have been virtually indistinguishable from Bush's. In fact, the GOP should consider nominating him. See, Candidate Obama is a very different person from President Obama. Candidate Obama had the fire in his belly. He understood the issues facing this country so clearly. But then once he got elected, Candidate Obama went away and President Obama took his place. But now Candidate Obama has reappeared and is talking about making the wealthy pay their fair share etc. There really needs to be a Democratic challenger. Then he could show Candidate Obama all the things he said he would do back in '07 and '08.

LOL extra hard on Obamacare=socialism.

EDIT: http://www.politifac...-health-reform/

Obamacare forces EVERYBODY to purchase healthcare. And since there's no public option you MUST buy it from private insurers. It's brilliant actually, the healthcare industry got everybody to whine and complain about "teh socializms death panals" coming to get them, but in the end healthcare lobbyists met with the president and his Congressional supporters convinced them to nix any talk of TEH SOCIALIZMS public option, but the part about forcing everyone to buy a service from them stayed in the bill. How forcing people to buy something from a private entity is socialism, I'll never know.

PW hit the nail on the head. It’s pretty pathetic how the two parties have convinced us it’s our fellow Americans who are the problem. The Duopoly passed NAFTA and GATT, which incentivized companies to send jobs overseas. Both parties sent us and are keeping us in Iraq and A-Stan, which has cost us umpteen trillions in blood and treasure. Both the Republicans and the Dems are too gutless and corrupt to fix immigration and healthcare. Both parties control the election system and keep any 3rd party threats out. You want a choice besides Coke and Pepsi, Hertz and Avis? F*&% you.

It doesn't matter that there is no public option, it is still socialist/communist, at least in principle. They still require everyone to do something "for their own good", under threat of government enforcement. If I want to pay my medical bills out of pocket (like I have for the better part of a decade now), why do they have the right to demand I buy the same service I provide myself from a third party? They are transferring my money and choice from me to another entity, and removing my right to choose.

It's like the elections. "Look, you can pick between GOP or Dems. See, you have freedom and democracy." There really ain't much of a choice, they all act the same in office. They are bought out by corporate and special interests, and watch out for their wallets and not the constituents. But anyone not part of the controlling oligarchy is elbowed out of the way. Take Ron Paul for example. So many people support Ron Paul, and they have for decades. But the media pretends the guy doesn't even exist (except when they can go "Look, he's nuts, we can't let this guy in the White House").
