yes, as long as people post new positions and plead for new positions, they will forever remain blank....

lol, I was told the new brigade might add a few positions, but I've yet to see them, so I'm in doubt.

Hope springs eternal... I wouldn't hold your breath. Don't worry about it, just play paintball.

calling all brigade members, theres only one topic in there right now and it deals with this issue and others, but I don't really know if they will add other positions *mostly because every position I've ever seen in this area has been done before and sucked eggs, lol*.

With the seeming departure from the rigid team position concept I would expect the blank spots to disappear sooner than be filled. Finding the "official" description of the positions has fallen off the face of the Spec Ops web complex (keep finding broken links) except when clicking on the position icon at the top of your Brigade Page.

I don't think they'll get filled. I think that even the positions they have defined are often too constrictive. The reality is that while the definitions of the different positions are perfectly valid, few people play only one position for the entire day, or even an entire game. There is a lot of switching, as is needed in this kind of action-packed, fast-paced game.

As has been said many times over, the positions describe common tasks on a paintball field. MOST of the positions that have been suggested are too specific to be used by everyone, thus they have not been adopted into the SO Positions canon. Conversely, the positions suggested may very well be in regular use by some people at some fields. This is why I think that they should open up those other slots to the creativity of the brigade membership. Each member should be allowed to "invent" or "imagine" his own position, create a position logo (as many have done here on the SOF), and type in a position description. This eliminates overposting of "new" positions, and also allows an outlet for newbies' enthusiasm.

But hey, that's just me.

They sound like they are adding a Razorback position and a tank hunting position. They have brigade patches for those ones... :P

That'd be my solution.
This is my sig. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My sig is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. My sig, without me, is useless. Without my sig, I am useless. I must type my sig true. I must spell better than my enemy who is trying to judge me. I must type before he ridicules me. I WILL... My sig and I know that what counts in this forum is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the splatter we make. We know that it is the hits that count. WE WILL HIT... Before the Admins, I swear this creed. My sig and myself are the defenders of my forum. We are the masters of our enemy. WE ARE THE SAVIORS OF MY PROFILE. - Tippmann Owner #pi

When another position comes that specops can make a ton of money off of marketing specific position tied products, a new position will be made. That's why I don't think tank hunter will become one of the main positions. Too few people, and too much money to advertise it.
