So since this whole group is in the Hobbies & Interests, I am curious how many of my fellow paintballers are also Gamers?? And what games do you play?? So list the Games that you played and what year you started playing them. And I am not talking about board games (RISK, Chutes&Ladders, and such dont count), Just Role Playing Games on this thread.
Being as I started the thread, I will go first:
Dungeons & Dragons, 2nd ed.; 1988
Dungeons & Dragons, 3rd ed.; 2002
D20 Modern; 2003

I have been DM/GM for a long time, not even sure what year I decided to try. But I have not been a player, since about 1998(UGH!!), really wish that I could find a group that ran D20 Modern. I also play a couple variants of D20 Modern,(Apocalypse, etc)
So chime in and share.

Prefer the AD&D ruleset with a few tweaks.

Also, Half-elf ranger, dual wield, improved dual wield, weapon finesse, with high Constitution and Dexterity scores, and not to shabby on the Strength scores either. Dual masterwork Bastard swords. Maybe multiclass a few levels of Barbarian for Rage. On a natural 20, he will destroy everything you love.

There was some discussion in here http://forum.moatipa...howtopic=179958 about RPGs. Kind of died off though.

I am crafting what may possibly be the most bizarrely cracked, overpowered, and broken character in my D&D career.

A few levels of wizard for "Scribe Scrolls" plus whatever assorted fun spells you want, preferably various buffs and attack boosters, and levels of sorcerer to access blood magic (magic activated by the contact of the character's blood, and only their blood).

Done? Good.

Now pick a melee fighter. Big swords and/or dual wielding will both be your friend.

Now, Scribe whatever spells you want onto your weapons, to be activated by your blood. StoneSkin, Blade barrier, wall of fire, regeneration, elemental boost (burning/freezing/whatever to your weapon), haste, etc. And the most broken spell in the game (originally meant as a parlor trick :P )Speedy Undress can be fun as it'll cause all armor/clothing/equipment not held to fall off the victim.

A Greatsword will fit about 20 spells on it, dual longswords 10 each, dual bastard swords 12 each.

Now, for those not getting the idea here, it goes something like this. You/your party is getting the crap stomped out of them. You either cut yourself and wipe blood on the blade, or, more likely, you're already bleeding from getting your ass kicked, so use that.

Most GM's will stare at you blankly as you do this. Then you explain that it activates EVERY SPELL you have scribed on your weapon at the same time.

Then he looks at you blankly when you show him the list of scribed spells.

Then you roll/figure all your new stats and modifiers.

Then the GM asks if you can do that. Seriously, can you FRAGing do that?

Then you show him your character sheets and perks.

Then the GM has an "Oh FRAGing hell." moment.

You are, for all of about one turn, a god. Properly used, you are a one man army.

As a bonus, you can also scribe team mates weapons for this awesome power, with just some of their blood, and a LOT of their cash. :D

Trust me, once it happens a few times, they'll want in too. I know a dude (power tripping punk ass) that runs gesalt characters AND weapons, and he's gotten his ass kicked in PvP battles by just my basic MultiClass characters at the same level with that little trick.

Diesel has played Dungeons & Dragons for over twenty years[14] and wrote the foreword for the commemorative book 30 Years of Adventure: A Celebration of Dungeons & Dragons. Are tabletop strategy games included? That's what I actually started off on. Warhammer 40,000. Blood Angels.

Anyway, after I was playing that for a few months, the friend who got me into it actually suggested to me the very first RPG I've ever played, Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy. We and some other friends played that for a while, until the new Warhammer Fantasy game came out, and that's what I'm on now. And if anyone here knows what I'm talking about, please speak up! :)

I only play Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic...I love it, but I've played through it several times and after a while you explore everything. My computer doesn't really have the capabilities to play most games.

Oh Mack! Computer games don't come into this conversation! This is all tabletop gaming. Sheets of paper, funny dice, having to determine your characters abilities and skills.... It's a ton of fun as long as there aren't a bunch of rules lawyers playing with you.

Are tabletop strategy games included? I don't see why not. I used to be a hardcore Battletech player. Nothing more fun than running a lance of 18 meter tall walking battle tanks, toss in some infantry platoons and areospace fighters and it gets nuts!
