Ok...Let me preface with AWESOME. Very well-organized and thought out. Eloquent as well.

I'd like to offer some edits to this post as it is stickied and will likely reach the hands of parents.

1) You've used THEN in several places where it should be THAN. Then is a word indicating sequence (first this happens, then that, etc). Than is the word you need for comparisons (this is better than that).

2) You've used a couple of acronyms that should be spelled out the first time it is used. For example: FPS (Feet Per Second). The rest of the time you use that acronym you don't have to explain it, but you should include the parenthetical explanation the first time you use any acronym.

I hope you are not offended by my (hopefully) constructive criticism. I only offer it because the rest of your essay is outstanding, and it deserves due consideration. I thoroughly enjoyed this post.

Great post. I convinced my mom to let me play by telling her that either I'm outside getting exercise or sitting on my butt playing video games.

I think I am going to PDF this sometime and put it in the PBLibrary archives.

Permission to do so?

You would get credit of course.

I would reword this:

"So, why is paintball so safe? Two reasons. One, a paintball is physically incapable of causing any serious harm to someone. A single paintball weighs a few grams and, even travelling at 300 FPS, will only leave welts and tiny bruises that are gone in a day or two"

I know what you're trying to say, but the sentence is inaccurate. A paintball to the eye can cause serious harm. And I broke a guys finger with a paintball when he tried to bunker me.
I'm addicted to placebos. I could quit, but it wouldn't matter.

I wish the first word I ever said was "quote" so right before I died, I could say, "unquote"

I dont know. There were teachers at my high school he met, dated, married and have kids and are still together. I dont anything wrong with that. Im not sure how I feel about a parent dating a teacher, depended on the situation I guess.

This is an excellent post. Good job MP!
Now I must also show this to my friend's mom.

Thank you very much for this excellent post. This will go a long way toward getting parents' approval of the sport. I'll be sharing this with my friends.
