I got my first two markers (a BE Tigershark and Sypder Victor I) about 2 years apart. I had the Victor for maybe 4 years until I got my A-5. About 2 months after getting the A-5, I may or may not have owned an Autococker Trilogy. After about a year of the A-5 I think I got the Tac-One, maybe it was a little later but I LOVE that BOINKing thing and haven't even looked at new markers until about a month ago when I decided to get a Viking, but ended up with a Borg, but not as an "upgrade," but rather as an alternative to my Mag, especially for outlaw when I need to worry about air a lot more.

So I would say maybe 2-3 years or so in most cases for me, or at least that's what I want to shoot for before I buy another marker.

I keep a collection for different roles, so it's unfair for me to specify "when do I get a new marker" after another one.

I usually buy 1-3 new markers in a given year, and I'll sell some if I see a need / they're no longer used for anything.

Currently, I have two electropneumatics, a T8, a bow, two pumps (both Sheridan, one stock class and one open class), and my first marker (stacked tube blow back). And a scenario LAW.

I've had 4 Tippmanns come and go (either won them and/or bought and sold), as well as a few others.

I haven't bought any gear this year, which is better than most years.

And yes, I play enough paintball to use all of it multiple times in a given season.

No option for me in there. I have no set time frame. I just see something shiny that i like and i get it. So however often that is.

no option for "under 1 year".....seeing as i used to sell and buy markers and sell them within a month, once within a day of receiving it lol! and the Bushmaster's for sale, I;ve owned it for approximately 3 months.

I ignored all the little 'fun toys' I bought, and just counted my main shooters.
I average about a new one every two years. Last one was 07, got a Marq6. Don't think I'll get a new one in the next few years, though.
I'll put $250 in upgrades on the Marq (Prof. Kit and Tadao board), maybe. Though if I can land a good paying job while in school, I might get the Bob Long Victory and not upgrade the Marq.

...But only if I can get the Victory in purple...
My job is to be an asshole. I excel at the position.

If you take good care of it, it should last as long as you want it to. But I would say when you want to change your style of play. Or if you want to upgrade the gun and you can't because of either already or broken or something. That's what happened with my first tippmann. The guy already customized it, ect.

Nice sig bug, buy the way it was about 11:30 at night and I hit my moniter thinkin it was real.

Get a new gun when you either need something new, or just want a change. My current guns shoot fine, so I have no need to get a new gun until I have extra cash lying around.

So long as my marker functions and I can play competitively with it against other players on the woodsball field, I don't need to replace it.

Define "New". I started with my first gun Dec. of 04'. I used it for a little less than 2 years before I bought and pieced together an 02' Autococker off Ebay. I used that Autococker for almost two years before I got a Phantom in late summer of 08' off the BST on SpecOps. I've had my Phantom for 8-9 months and am now considering replacing it as my main marker with my Autococker that I have converted to a Sniper II. I still own all my guns, and have even bought 5 other markers to tinker with and have fun. With the exception of my first gun, all guns were used. 2 of the markers are older than I am and one is close.

For now, I am going to stick with what I have and give a select few the respect and upgrades they deserve. The others that I use for fun will most likely be sold off soon. I am done buying for now, and with the exception of a Box gun, Judicium, or some other custom work, I will be done buying full guns for the rest of the time that I'm in college. There's just not enough time for me to dedicate to each individual gun I have.

Why are there no choices under a year? I've only got one gun I've kept for more then a year.
