Spring/Summer Self Employment Jobs and Requirements:

Washer of Things: Pressure Washer
Mower of Lawns: Lawnmower/Car to get you there.
Sitter of Babies: An Instruction Course and a ride (good grades help-they'll see you're less likely to actually sit on their babies)
Shoveler of Driveways/Sidewalks (here in MO it was 78 on sunday and we got 6" of snow on Monday evening):Shovel and Coat/cold weather gear...
Recycler of Crap: LOTS of garbage bags, and a couple 40 gallon Tupperware containers(the ones you stuff all your seasonal stuff in) and preferably a truck or large-esque vehicle, and a Friendly Neighborhood Recycling Service!
Seller of Lemonade: Lemonade ingredients, a place to sell it on a busy street (the LEMONADE!-get your 13 year old mind outta the gutter!), a stand, and good entrepreneurial skills
Doer of Chores:Parents willing to dish out cash... chores to do
Bum: nothing really, just a comfortable couch, and the hopes that money either
a)falls from the sky
b)starts growing on trees
c)or appears in Powerball format.

Just some ideas to get out there and make some cash! (and inversely getting out there and Paintballing!)

(BTW 100th post... Huzzah!)

edit: Damn. Nevermind above statement.

The guys have covered it all pretty darned well. If you can play an instrument, you could offer lessons.

One of my 'side projects' that will get me a little bit of money is recycling cans. We play a lot of beer pong, and I collect all the cans and bottles for recycling. I'm kinda a hippie like that.

I don't collect for cash. As I said, I'm a hippie. I have NO CLUE how much 4 bags of crushed beer cans is worth, but whatever it is, I will take it.

GAH! A porcelain god!

NOOO!!!

I worshipped one of them on a service call today... Not a good idea to eat Taco John's before having to install a dishwasher...

But... I was thinking something more fleshy.. you know... yeah. Not porcelain... they scare me!

On a side note, that is an awesome toilet.

What everyone else has said here works great... lawns, leaves, odd jobs, things like that

Depending on how generous your parents are, they may pay you a bit for "heavier" work around the house. My dad's a pretty awesome guy, I work on the farm with him in the summer, and he pays me a bit. So stacking bales, rolling/cultivating fields, stuff like that.

Since that might not work for you, theres also house matinence stuff like taking down sheds, helping paint, replace gutters, things like that. We've also got a MASSSIVE lawn (takes me a bit more than 3 hours when I'm gunning it on our riding mower), so they give me a bit for that too.

It's either this or find someone to sue.

I do all of the above without getting paid.

Like everyone else has said, no one in their right mind likes yard work. My little brother sells eggs from his chickens, sometimes we sell produce (vegetables, fruit), Its actually easy to find work to do if you just look.

Edit: I am a full time high school student, no paying job, no allowance and I pay for most of the gear that me, my brother and my dad uses.

Too bad you're not in my area right now. I just shoveled half the drive way and I'd happily would have paid $40.00 to have it done.

There's only 2 inches covering the driveway but it's all ice crystals from last night that have frozen together. It broke our plastic snow shovel.
