Told ya I'd get this up later tonight. Just 4:30 AM later.

This was actually inspired a few years ago by a non-paintball argument, of all things. I asked someone for an answer, they cut and pasted one form wikipedia. When I said I wanted their take on it, the reply I got was "Who cares where it came from, it's the answer you wanted, right?" And that made me step back and re-look at a lot of discussions on paintball forums.

My conclusions are pretty basic, one being this video. The "walkthru mentality". Don't tell me why it works, just tell me the move so I can do it. My opinion is a little different than that.

Got a different take? Grab a camera and make a response.

I realize that, for the most part, I'm preaching to the choir on stuff like this. The hope is that new guys will find it, and hear the message, eventually...

listen to the priest! you should seriously think of putting all this advise together into a single playlist, then you can just send someone you tube links every time you see something as such.

or you could just keep forum creeping, both work :P

enjoyed the video

Awesome video- I totally agree that people want the moves without the work. I am a martial artist, and all the people who try it automatically want to do flying kicks, wheel kicks and the like, basically the more advanced moves without learning anything. Then they try to, do it miserably or hurt themselves, and generally do martial arts wrong.

Just as in PB, martial arts or life, if you don't know how you did it, theres no reason to do it at all. If you don't know the why or how, why learn it for the simple 1 instance that the move might help, when the underlying skill is in fact much more important.

Keep them coming. I look forward to the videos alluded to in the update.
I'm not out here to glorify myself
